‘Transformers 5’ Writers Inclined Towards Introducing the Beast Versions of Autobots and Decepticons

Paramount Pictures has come up with a “Transformers” writers’ room sometime in May as put together by Akiva Goldsman and Michael Bay. The writers’ room assured the next installment of the very successful robot movie series of a good storyline as well as all future films or spinoff movies of the franchise.

It could be recalled that towards the penultimate part of “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, were able to draw support from at least three beast robots, which alluded the possibility that the next installment of the series could focus on beast wars.

Reports coming out as of late indicate that Akiva Goldsman seems to have given the writers a free hand on deciding which direction they want to go in as far as plots and subplots for “Transformers 5” are concerned, details Enstarz.

In a recent interview, Goldsman said that if one of the writers discovers an affinity for Beast Wars, he or she can move forward on treatments that will have been fleshed out by the whole writers’ room.

When the concept of ‘Beast Wars’ materializes for “Transformers 5,” it would mean that the machines will now transform into wild animalistic form.

The beast versions of many of the robot characters of “Transformers” can be found on the G1 toyline series – Optimus Prime is Optimus Primal, Bumblebee is Cheetor, Star Scream is Terrasaur, and Blackout is Tarantulus, and so on and so forth. The rest of the robots from both the Autobots and the Decepticons all have their wild animalistic form.

Returning to the director’s chair

While there have been reports since last month that Michael Bay will be returning to direct the fifth movie of the successful franchise, it seems that the director’s return may be at the behest or request of lead actor Mark Wahlberg, according to the Day Herald.

In a recent interview, Wahlberg said that Michael Bay is definitely going to become part of the film. It is just not clear whether Bay will be returning to the director’s chair or will he just be contented overseeing with Akiva the works of the writers, or simply take on the role of movie executive producer.

Wahlberg also disclosed during that interview that he and Michael Bay will sit down together after the director is through filming his movie in Malta.

A new twist in the “Transformers” saga

There’s a new twist in the continuing saga of “Transformers 5” which will not hit worldwide theaters in 2017 still. Paramount Pictures announced that its “Transformers” ‘writers’ room’ has already been staffed with well-experienced and excellent writers to be supervised by both Akiva Goldsman and Michael Bay, which greatly ensures the good storylines for “Transformers 5” and all other sequels and spinoffs of the very successful movie franchise.

After the showing of “Transformers: Age of Extinction” in June of last year, Michael Bay decided to leave the franchise as director, having megged the four films of the series since 2007.

There have been reports after his departure that Bay has recommended or tapped Jonathan Liebesman, director of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” reboot movie that was shown last year, to replace him and direct “Transformers 5.” Liebesman comes highly recommended by Bay as the former is also his protégé.

However, after a few months, it has been reported that Michael Bay has come back to the franchise. He later clarified that he came back not as director of the next sequel of the movie but merely as consultant to oversee the creation of the ‘writers’ room’ to be headed by Akiva Goldsman.

It seems like things have changed after the ‘writers’ room’ have been staffed with excellent writers as latest reports now indicate that Michael Bay may actually come back to direct “Transformers 5.”
