Toyota CEO Debunks Rumors of Last Second Redesign on 2016 Toyota Prius by Confirming that the Hybrid Vehicle Will be Debuting this Fall, And More Information

It is believed that much of the design concept of the 2016 Toyota Prius was taken from the Toyota C-HR concept car for a compact crossover which the company showcased during the 2014 Paris Motor Show.

The new Prius will maintain the nickel-metal-hydride battery pack which it started using with the base model, with an option to use a lithium-ion battery in a more expensive variant that shall offer better fuel savings.

In addition to its excellent fuel economy, the 2016 Toyota Prius shall reportedly feature a huge backseat, a spacious cargo area, as well as several high-tech features and options.
The two major downsides to the upcoming hybrid from Toyota is the expected poor acceleration of the vehicle which is quite typical for vehicles running on combined gas and electricity, and also handling, which still leaves some more room for future improvements.

The 2016 Toyota Prius will be the fourth generation from the game-changing hybrid line of the Japanese carmaker and its entry gives the brand more than just the smart fuel-saving feature that it has become known for and attested to by its millions of satisfied users.

  1. I just saw the 2016 Prius this morning on the streets of Tokyo. It was stopped at a stoplight behind the current gen. I had to do a double take to make sure it was indeed a Prius. Front end design is handsome. The rest of the car is similar to current gen.
