Considering that the film’s existence is a borderline miracle, given rumors that it wasn’t even supposed to be produced in the first place, there is a lot at stake here for the producers. Fans will surely expect something spectacular and full of interesting developments, and the amount of time that’s passed since “Toy Story 3” will surely add to those expectations as well.
But if the studio plays their cards right, we expect that “Toy Story 4” can solidify the name of the franchise, and make it even more prominent than before. There will be a lot of new potential viewers to introduce to the world of the toys, too.
In fact, this is probably one of the more interesting aspects of “Toy Story 4”. The fact that the film will attract viewers of such different ages will give its producers a unique opportunity to do something special with it.
“Frozen 2” is in a similar position right now, but it can be argued that “Toy Story 4” has an even greater potential to realize that, as the film has deeper roots in the film industry. Its history goes farther back, and it’s a name that many people instantly recognize. With all that in mind, we fully expect that “Toy Story 4” will be talked about for a long time, no matter how the film turns out. Of course, we’re certainly hoping it won’t be a flop either, for many reasons.
