Tom Holland was roped in to play the younger Spider-Man for Marvel and Spider-Man: Homecoming is anticipated to be a massive success. Game N Guide reported that the response to Spider-Man: Homecoming was enough for the producers to start working on the sequel to the film. Tom Holland has been dropping hints that there is a possibility of a sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Tom Holland revealed that the work on the second Spider-Man movie had started, while at the after-party for The Lost City of Z. Holland made it clear that he couldn’t talk about his upcoming project.
However, he revealed that the work on Spider-Man: Homecoming is wrapped up and the plans for the sequel are being drawn out.
Immediately, rumors about the villain for the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming started circulating. According to speculations, the first film will hint at the villain in the second Spider-Man film. Since Marvel Studios and Sony were clear that they would not deal with any aspect of Spider-Man’s story that the earlier films had covered, it is clear that the villain would be a new one.
There is a chance that Kraven the Hunter might be brought in as the villain for the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Since the shoot for Spider-Man: Homecoming is wrapped up, there is a chance that Tom Holland’s character might find a place in other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Avengers: Infinity Wars has started production in Atlanta. However, there is no confirmation on whether the wall-crawling superhero will find a place in the film.
Sony made a deal with Marvel Studios to bring Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it was only for one standalone film and an appearance in Captain America: Civil War.
Since Spider-Man’s appearance in the Civil War was much appreciated and given that the work on Spider-Man: Homecoming is over, Sony might rework the agreement and allow the character to be part of some more films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
When IGN asked Tom Holland if he would appear in the next Avenger’s film, he said that everything was up in the air. He hinted at a deal being worked out but was unclear about the terms of it.
