Tom Cruise has been very busy lately filming the rest of the Mission Impossible 5 movie in London, but there is at least one event that has him putting the filming duties on hold. According to one online source, the very popular and action packed actor will be taking the day off and attending the BAFTA’s. At the time of this post, it was understood that Tom Cruise was not nominated for any awards, however, the show’s producers were trying to get Tom Cruise to show up as a presenter.
The awards show will be hosted by Stephen Fry for the 10th time and even though Tom Cruise is a very special person to have an a presenter, there will be one more famous person there as well. According to reports online, Stephen Hawking is also going to be in attendance as the movie about his life is up for at least 10 different awards, including Best Film, Best Leading Actor and Best Leading Actress.
Other confirmed guests include Amy Adams, Patricia Arquette, Steve Carell, Felicity Jones, Michael Keaton, Julianne Moore, Edward Norton and Reese Witherspoon just to name a few of the big names on the list. Other than attending the awards show, Tom Cruise is also finishing up the filming for his next action installment to the Mission Impossible series. The fifth movie is in London right now, which should be one of the last stops before finishing up.
The cast and crew was noticed in Italy not that long ago and that sparked the rumors that Mission Impossible 5 was in the works and that it would be coming out this year. Since then, there has been more information regarding the cast and what fans of the series can expect in the new action packed film. According to a few reports, there will be underwater scenes in the next film, so that is going to get a lot of attention.
This week it was also reported that Tom Cruise was going to be putting on a few pounds in order to play a role in a new movie. The new movie is called “Mena” and he is reportedly going to be playing a B.R. smuggler turned informant Barry Seal. For some reason, Tom Cruise does not get around those typical CIA styled roles, but with the international success of his movies there are very few people that are going to worry about it.
