‘Tom Clancy’s The Division’ Visual Effects will be a Letdown to Gamers, Cite Critics!

The open-world third-person shooter video game “Tom Clancy’s The Division” is due to hit the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC on March 8, 2016, but there are already speculations that it could offer a major letdown among gamers when it finally comes out.

There are now rumors going around that game developer Ubisoft has made major changes to the graphics of the upcoming video game, which accordingly is a downgrade from what was originally hyped and advertised, reports Design & Trend.

Apparently, a game expert specializing in graphics technology made an analysis of the game and found out that there are several visual effects that seem to be missing from the 2013 build of the game. The expert actually came up with a 20-minute footage detailing how the visuals of “Tom Clancy’s The Division” were downgraded from what was promised to gamers.

It could be recalled that when Ubisoft introduced the game, the developer highlighted the benefits of using the Snowdrop engine. Accordingly, the engine has contributed to making reflections, destruction, and weather-responsive environments to create an immersive experience to gamers.

However, it seems that none of those pronounced advantages will be present when the final game releases next year or so the speculations say as Ubisoft has yet to make a statement or announcement to either confirm or deny the rumors.

Not the same game

Reports also have it that as the game development has progressed, Ubisoft engineers have been forced to downgrade their original graphics aspirations for “Tom Clancy’s The Division” possibly to support lower-tier PC hardware or current generation gaming consoles.

There is that possibility that the optimization has proven too difficult for the developers so they decided to promptly respond to it by downgrading the visual aspects of the game, which is the best option that they have.

But those who have seen the game as advertised back in 2013 will realize that it is no longer the same as the one which will be coming out next year, graphics-wise.

Meanwhile, a gamer enthusiast was able to test a slice of the game during the PAX Prime event held in Seattle late in August but did not say much about the supposed downgraded graphics of “Tom Clancy’s The Division.”

Instead, the critic said that he did not enjoy the gameplay demo as much as he hoped, after falling in line to test-play “Tom Clancy’s The Division,” details iDigital Times.

According to the gamer, from a visual standpoint, the game meets the expectations that many gamers will have on a modern open-world property. Environments are incredibly detailed and there is an abundance of visual elements, which were contrary to the observations of the astute visuals expert.

Stick to what was promised

Overall, the game enthusiast says that “Tom Clancy’s The Division” plays like a third-person shooter with a few role-playing game mechanics and not a shooter-influenced role-playing game.

He believes however that the developer should stick to the strategy-focused, narrative-driven shooter game that was promised to gamers back in 2013. As the game is to be rolled out in March 2016 yet, there is still time to make additional and necessary changes without compromising the overall gameplay quality.

Tom Clancy's The Division

Ubisoft meanwhile assured gamers that there will be no further delays in the game this time around as that would be nearly three years from the time that it was first announced in 2013.

There are many reasons and explanations why the release date of “Tom Clancy’s The Division” was delayed. Early this year, it was reported that the role-playing game will finally come out in the gaming consoles and the PC before the end of this year.
