‘Tom Clancy’s The Division’ Completion of Alpha Test Further Whet Gamers’ Appetite on Upcoming Video Game!

Gamers of the third-person shooter video game “Tom Clancy’s The Division” are getting excited for the scheduled release of the game on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PC on March 8, 2016, especially when reports came out that the alpha testing of the game has already been completed recently.

The alpha test is the final phase of testing for the game. It was carried out by game developer Ubisoft on a semi-closed or private setting, which is quite different from the beta testing which is normally done in public.

In a recent interview, Julian Gerighty, associate creative director of “Tom Clancy’s The Division,” believes that the completion of the alpha test has given the development team enough reasons to whet the appetites of its anxiously waiting gamers, details IGN.

When asked how is the game being branded as a role-playing game, Gerighty explained that the key to the RPG experience in “Tom Clancy’s The Division” is the choices given to gamers about weapons, skills, talents, and mods.

He added that the gamer decisions on certain gameplay options as well as the progression choices behind the equipment involved make “Tom Clancy’s The Division” really stand out.

Gerighty said that the game was never built to have a final end credit roll type of sequence and one of the development team’s challenges was to have a compelling story while proposing a completely open world with a non-linear structure.

The game’s associate creative director also added that “Tom Clancy’s The Division” gives a conclusion to its narrative journey.

Gameplay on YouTube

Meanwhile, a total of 40 minutes of gameplay of “Tom Clancy’s The Division” have appeared in video sharing site YouTube after the completion of the private alpha testing recently.

The alpha testing of “Tom Clancy’s The Division” actually follows the beta testing for the game on Xbox One announced by Ubisoft at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 held in June this year, notes Polygon.

Though the closed-door alpha got going roughly two weeks ago as a concession for gamers who have pre-ordered the game immediately after completion of the beta testing of “Tom Clancy’s The Division,” it seems that the phase has turned in positive results.

However, the alpha testing comes with a non-disclosure agreement so whoever uploaded the video on YouTube will be in for a lot of trouble.

Prior to appearing on YouTube, the video also surfaced on a thread in the public gaming forum NeoGAF where gamers debated the merits of what “Tom Clancy’s The Division” showed in the 40-minute gameplay footage.

A challenging video game

Based on the feedback of those who have had the opportunity to play the game in various gaming events, some gamers find “Tom Clancy’s The Division” quite challenging, particularly for the newbies.

In order to walk the gamers through to the game, Ubisoft has recently come out with a player dossier for “Tom Clancy’s The Division” which shed some light on various game aspects including the experience system, skills, and perks.

Ubisoft also touched on how agents or players can adapt to various scenarios and play styles.

The experience system helps contextualize a player’s progression in the game, cites Marcus Rosengren, senior games designer of Ubisoft for “Tom Clancy’s The Division.” He added that the players’ experience levels will determine how powerful their respective characters are and what level of challenges they can take on, with the idea of having a balance in the game.

So the more powerful the player character has become, the more access he will have on advanced technology.

The skill system on “Tom Clancy’s The Division” also defines an agent’s role in the game. Each skill is unique and caters to different play styles.
