It would benefit both Marvel and Universal if they managed to sort things out behind the scenes and greenlit a “The Hulk” film, so it makes sense for the two studios to come together and make this happen. But then, we also don’t know what kinds of issues there could be that are hidden from the public eye.
We’re curious how Thor will be presented in “Thor: Ragnarok”, and how it could reshape his relationship with The Hulk. This is starting to seem like an important release for more reasons than fans are probably guessing, so hopefully the studio is going to pull it off properly.
It’s also interesting to note that there is a minority of fans who apparently aren’t entirely on board with the idea of seeing a separate film about The Hulk right now, as the market for superhero movies has become quite crowded in their eyes. This opinion is nothing new under the sun though, as it seems to have been forming for a while now.
That extends to the TV show side of things too, making things even more problematic for potential new releases. That could be the main reason why a Hulk film isn’t going to happen anytime soon, as the studios could be waiting for a better time to bring it to the market. Hopefully it won’t be too late by the time they decide to do it though.
