Fans will also see the return of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki in the film so it looks like there’s more to the film than The Hulk and Thor clashing. No word yet if Natalie Portman will reprise her role as Thor’s love interest Jane.
Production for “Thor: Ragnarok” will commence in Australia next summer. The superhero film serves as the 17th installment in the MCU as well as the fifth installment in the studio’s Phase Three.
The first “Thor” film was released in 2011 with its sequel “Thor: The Dark World” being shown in 2013. Hemsworth however, reprised his role as the God of Thunder in 2012’s “The Avengers” and 2015’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”
Moreover, it is rumored that the third Thor film will be a major movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it is expected to heavily set up the events of “Avengers: Infinity War.”
“Avengers: Infinity War” is the planned two-part sequel to “The Avengers” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” The films will be the 18th and 22nd installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as the sixth and 10th in Phase Three.
Part 1 is expected to hit theaters on May 4, 2018, with Part 2 already has a May 3, 2019 playdate. Meanwhile, “Thor: Ragnarok” is slated for release on November 3, 2017.
