Some recent rumors around the development of “Thor 3” have been the focus of a lot of discussion around communities of the films’ fans. According to unconfirmed reports, as well as a possible hint in a trailer recently released for “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, the new “Thor” might introduce Loki’s wife. This, along with the news that the film will see several important characters killed off, has been hinting at the possibility that this will be the most dramatic installment in the series yet, and fans have been appropriately excited about the release of the film.
In the previous movies, Loki was never one to chase after women, and his character was always developed in a different direction. Some fans have actually been pleased by this, as they saw it a refreshing change to have a major character without a romantic subplot thrown in. Now, this might change in the new movie, although from what can be seen around various message boards, fans are still hopeful that the producers know how to introduce a romantic interest into the plot without ruining Loki’s character.
According to reports, the film is still under heavy development, and the script may not actually be finalized yet. A lot of questions keep coming up from the fans’ side, regarding who’s going to live for the next installment (if one is to come), although the producers have been understandably tight-lipped on the issue. There have certainly been some rumors allegedly coming from people close to the writing staff, but it’s next to impossible to confirm any of those – and fans should of course take any such rumors with a grain of salt.
Natalie Portman has given some hints that she might potentially have an interest in playing in the movie, as a recent speech given by her referenced the fact that hero movies need a more prominent display of strong female characters, which could indicate that she’s currently negotiating such a role for “Thor 3”. Of course, at this point these are just speculations, and the actress herself has not stated anything concrete on the matter.
There’s still a long time to go until “Thor 3” arrives, and the movie is expected to come no sooner than 2017. This gives the producers plenty of time to change the script and overall direction of the plot, so even the information about Loki’s wife might become outdated at some point. Still, it would be interesting to see the production taking on a new approach, and trying to move in more unusual directions with regards to how the characters and overall plot are developed.
