British actor Theo James appreciates being given the role of Four in the science fiction “The Divergent” movie series because it certainly provides him the name and fame.
However, the 30-year-old actor does not want to be typecast in the role because he wants to be known as a well-rounded actor and that he could only do so if he will be able to prove himself beyond “The Divergent” movie series, details Movie News Guide.
James actually started his acting career with “A Passionate Woman,” where he starred opposite Billie Piper. He has taken on other film acting assignments including “Bedlam,” “Golden Boy” and “Underworld: Awakening.” among a few others.
In a recent interview, Theo said that when an actor is working in a film franchise, things are very different because the world sees him or her as that character only. He added that he thinks being recognized for “The Divergent” series alone will affect his career in the long term.
He said that he is the type of person who likes doing things differently and wacky too.

Meanwhile, Theo James and Shailene Woodley, in a recent interview, shared their thoughts about the filming of the third movie of the franchise titled “Divergent: Allegiant” which is due to hit theaters on March 18, 2016.
Both Theo and Shailene only have good words for each other because they apparently gave justice to their respective roles in the film, notes Realty Today.
While previous reports indicate of an unfortunate ending because Shailene’s Tris character would die in the end, book author Veronica Roth has publicly came out to explain the huge changes and differences between the novel and the movie.
Roth said that fans of the film and book series should prepare for more intense scenes in the movie. Although there have been fan clamors on Veronica Roth to change the ending of the movie series, the author said that she will not be changing the ending in the book so the same might hold true for the movie. She also revealed that Tris would eventually die in the movie.
The author added that it has actually been set up that way. At the end of the first book, Tris almost experienced death. Tris is in that water tank and she gets save at the last second by her mother. But at the end of the book, she played with the idea of self-sacrifice, by letting Tobias almost kill her.
Ending the dating rumors
Whatever hopes and notions that fans of the “The Divergent” movie series are entertaining on the possibility of Theo James and Shailene Woodley dating or taking their on-cam chemistry to the next level in real life have come to an end, following reports that the British actor has already been engaged to his British actress-girlfriend Ruth Kearney.
Apparently, it was the best move on the part of both Theo James and Ruth Kearney to quash all speculations that their relationship is under threat from Shailene Woodley.
Because of their on-cam chemistry, most fans are hoping that Theo and Shailene, who plays Four and Tris, respectively, in “The Divergent” movie series based on the novel of Veronica Roth, should consider going out because they really look good together.
But as it is, fans got a major disappointment when Theo and Ruth finally got engaged after being in a relationship for a long time already.
Before the reported engagement between Theo and Ruth, the British actor has already dismissed the speculations about him and Shailene dating during an interview with HLNTV.
James said that he and Shailene Woodley are just good friends and that they are not dating at all. He said that they are good professionals, before pulling it back by saying that he was just kidding and that what he actually meant is that they get along great in the “The Divergent” movie series.
