The rumored blossoming relationship between British actor Theo James and Shailene Woodley of the “Divergent” series is about to officially end as reports have it that James will soon be tying the knot with his actress girlfriend Ruth Kearney.
Both James and Woodley have denied that they have taken their on-screen chemistry off-cam since the two of them are actually in different relationships. James is already engaged to Ruth Kearney, while Woodley, until recently, has been reported to be dating Nahko Bear.
However, according to Movie News Guide, James and Woodley, sort of dated during the filming of the third and fourth movies of the series, titled “Divergent: Allegiant” and “Divergent: Ascendant,” respectively.
In a past interview, Theo James said that he and Shailene hung out a lot during the filming of the two movies and it was fun. He added that the cast was all staying in one apartment, sharing beds. He and Shailene shared one bed and they were spooning every night, the actor disclosed.
According to some reports, Theo James wanted to practice the kissing scenes with Shailene Woodley all the time in the apartment.
James admitted that he just wanted to practice the kissing scenes with Shailene as much as possible. In fact, he says to her after dinner that they should practice the kissing scenes more so that they come clean about it. He also shared in jest that he went into their kissing scenes hard because he thought that’s how Shailene wanted it.
But as it turned out, Theo James still felt awkward about the whole intimate scenes whereas Shailene Woodley seems hardly bothered by it all.
Secretly dating rumors
There are also speculations that because Theo and Shailene are both spoken for at the time of their filming for the “Divergent” movie series, the two have decided to keep their dating a secret.
Some of their fans who have followed them since they took on the role of Four and Tris in the first “Divergent movie shown in March 2014 are hoping that Theo and Shailene end up in each other’s arms, notes the iSchoolguide.
However, Theo James dismissed the so-called secret dating rumors with Shailene. He said that he and Shailene are just good friends and fans should accept that. He also says that he remains very loyal to his fiancée because he loves her so much and confirmed reports that he is actually planning to wed her very soon.
The name and fame
James appreciates being given the role of Four in the “Divergent” movie series because it certainly gave him the name and fame.
However, the 30-year-old actor does not want to be typecast in the role because he wants to be known as a well-rounded actor and that he could only do so if he will be able to prove himself beyond “The Divergent” movie series.
James actually started his acting career with “A Passionate Woman,” where he starred opposite Billie Piper. He has taken on other film acting assignments including “Bedlam,” “Golden Boy” and “Underworld: Awakening.”
In a recent interview, Theo said that when an actor is working in a film franchise, things are very different because the world sees him as that character only. He added that he thinks being recognized for “Divergent” series alone will affect his career in the long term. He said that he is the type of person who likes doing things differently and wacky too.
Meanwhile, Theo James and Shailene Woodley, in an interview shared their thoughts about the filming of the third movie of the franchise titled “Divergent: Allegiant” which is due to hit theaters on March 18, 2016.
Both Theo and Shailene only have good words for each other because they apparently gave justice to their roles in the film.
