British actor Theo James is starting to realize that Hollywood stardom comes with some uncomfortable moments. Because of his increasing fan base, he can no longer be the same person he used to be especially when he goes out in public.
Privacy has become an elusive privilege for Theo James especially now that his fan base is expected to increase further as the latest movie in the Divergent series entitled “Allegiant” is now playing in theaters worldwide.
Theo James is portraying again his role of Tobias ‘Four’ Eaton in the third movie of the Divergent series, opposite Shailene Woodley, who is playing her role of Tris Prior.
The actor revealed that the weirdest encounter he has had in public is when fans asked for his photographs while he was in the toilet. Instead of getting piqued, however, he just took it in stride and gave in to fan request, reports The Fresno Bee.
However, such kind of encounter is more the exception than the rule for James because more often, his fans are more respectful and appreciative of his work in the “Divergent” franchise.
He also talked about how “Allegiant” would surely quench the thirst of the series fans after waiting for one year. The actor said that the driving theme of “Allegiant” is that people should not be separated or categorized because of differences, whether they are physical or mental or economic.
He also added that another theme of the movie is about a young woman growing into maturity and how she evolves and adapts and reacts to big and huge problems. James is referring to Shailene Woodley because not only is her character the center of the changes going on in the movie’s post-Apocalyptic world, her character has also been the love interest for James’ character.
The fourth and final movie of the series entitled “Ascendant” will hit theaters in March next year.
James also said that the hard part of playing the relationship in the movie series is making sure that it does not feel and look artificial. No wonder, they caused a lot of dating rumors since the first movie.
Why Hugo Boss picked him
Meanwhile, Theo James also talked about the possible reason why he was picked by Hugo Boss for their advertising campaign.
Critics are saying that it is actually his whole smoldering appeal that enabled the actor to nail the part and become the company’s latest endorser of its newest cologne, Boss The Scent, reports Allure.
In person, Theo James is a beautiful person inside out. With the exception of his good looks and his first big ad campaign, he seems to be a pretty ordinary male in his early 30s who has had his fair share of embarrassing karaoke moments, and also being extremely obsessive when it comes to his grooming.
He said that being picked by Hugo Boss also made sense to him because the company’s newest cologne is in line with his sense of style. James also added that Hugo Boss is iconic and classy but also understated. There is also the sense of old-school with a bit of contemporary aspect to the brand, cites the actor.
All praises
Sometime last year, Theo James threw praises to co-star Shailene Woodley in an interview for her oozing self-confidence which she exuded while they were filming the last two films of the “Divergent” movie series – “Divergent: Allegiant” and “Divergent: Ascendant.”
During the interview, James cited Woodley as similar to the four women whom he respects a lot including his grandmother, his mother, and his two sisters. He cited them as very strong women who know how to be empowered and make the most of it to help make a difference in other people’s lives.
So while there have been rumors linking the two of them, the fact that Theo James only has high respect for Shailene Woodley somehow indicates that theirs is more of a professional admiration, rather than romantic. After all, Theo James is already engaged to Irish actress Ruth Kearney, while Shailene Woodley was already seeing musician Nahko Bear at that time.
