Now that filming for the two-part third movie of the “Divergent” series has been completed, British actor Theo James is now busy working on a major film project in Prague, the Czech Republic.
Since November 26, he has been filming the fifth installment of the “Underworld” movie franchise officially titled “Underworld: Next Generation.” Filming began on November 26 and will run for a period of 10 weeks.
In fact, when James traveled to the Czech Republic, his girlfriend Ruth Kearney decided to join him in the country where they were spotted on November 27 enjoying some romantic sightseeing in Prague and also sharing a kiss.
“Underworld: Next Generation” shall also feature Kate Beckinsale, whom Theo also worked with during the fourth movie of the series titled “Underworld: Awakening” released in 2012.
It was his hectic schedule as an actor that prompted Theo James to postpone his and Ruth’s wedding at a later time. Ruth took the deferment objectively as her fiancé is enjoying a surging movie career at this time.
Crossing paths again
Although he has moved on from the “Divergent” film series following the completion of “Divergent: Allegiant” to be shown on March 18, 2016 and “Divergent: Allegiant” on March 18, 2017, Theo James is optimistic that he and Shailene Woodley would definitely cross paths again in the movies.
The 31-year-old British actor says that his natural chemistry with Shailene would surely be noted by producers and once the third and fourth film of the “Divergent” movie series come out on theaters, they would surely be considered to be paired again, notes Movie News Guide.
James appreciates being given the role of Four in the “Divergent” movie series because it certainly gave him the name and fame.
However, he does not want to be typecast in the role because he wants to be known as a well-rounded actor and that he could only do so if he will be able to prove himself beyond the “Divergent” movie series.
James actually started his acting career with “A Passionate Woman,” where he starred opposite Billie Piper. He has taken on other film acting assignments including “Bedlam,” “Golden Boy” and “Underworld: Awakening.”
In a recent interview, Theo said that when an actor is working on a film franchise, things are very different because the world sees them as that character only. He added that he thinks being recognized for “Divergent” series alone will affect his career in the long term. He said that he is the type of person who likes doing things differently and wacky too.
Good words for one another
Meanwhile, Theo James and Shailene Woodley, in an interview, shared their thoughts about the filming of the third movie of the franchise titled “Divergent: Allegiant.”
Both Theo and Shailene only have good words for each other because they apparently gave justice to their roles in the film, notes the Realty Today.
While previous reports indicate of an unfortunate ending because Shailene’s Tris character would die in the end, book author Veronica Roth has publicly come out to explain the huge changes and differences between the novel and the movie.
Roth said that fans of the film and book series should prepare for more intense scenes in the movie. Although there have been fan clamors on Veronica Roth to change the ending of the movie series, the author said that she will not be changing the ending in the book so the same might hold true for the movie. She also confirmed that Tris would eventually die in the movie.
The author added that it has actually been set up that way. At the end of the first book, Tris almost experienced death. Tris is in that water tank and she gets saved at the last second by her mother. But at the end of the book, she played with the idea of self-sacrifice, by letting Tobias almost kill her.
Prior to the reports that Theo James and Ruth Kearney are about to get married, there have been speculations about the blossoming relationship between the British actor and Shailene Woodley.
