Sometime last year, in an interview, 31-year-old British actor Theo James threw praises to his American co-star Shailene Woodley for her oozing self-confidence which she exuded while they were filming the last two films of the “Divergent” movie series – “Divergent: Allegiant” and “Divergent: Ascendant.”
During the interview, James cited Woodley as similar to the four women whom he respects a lot including his grandmother, his mother, and his two sisters. He cited them as very strong women who know how to be empowered and make the most of it to help make a difference in other people’s lives.
So while there have been rumors linking the two of them, the fact that Theo James only has high respect for Shailene Woodley somehow indicates that theirs is more of a professional admiration, rather than romantic. After all, Theo James is already engaged to Irish actress Ruth Kearney, while Shailene Woodley was already seeing musician Nahko Bear at that time.
It seems that Theo James is right on cue about his assessment of Shailene Woodley as an extremely confident woman as the 23-year-old American actress has recently confirmed in a recent interview that she likes to bash as an empowered woman and lives her life to the fullest.
Passionate about empowering young women
Shailene said that she is actually curious to see where her life ends up when it comes to partnership. But as it is now, she said that she is happy in living the life of a single woman, perhaps alluding that she and Nahko Bear have broken up although she did not say.
The actress, who shall play Tris Prior again in “Divergent: Allegiant” due to hit theaters on March 18, said that she thinks of life as a pie and that she is contented with it because she thinks that she has the best pie, notes Fashion & Style.
She said that she feels that being true to herself is very important and that the biggest piece of advice that she can give to young women is to continue building their confidence.
Shailene also added that young women should be unmindful of the perception of others on them, adding that it is none of their business what other people think about them.
Through her surging popularity, Woodley has also made it her priority to spread the word about women empowerment and go on projects that are uplifting and providing inspiration to young girls. She is also very passionate about empowering young girls to reconnect with their own power.
As regards the “Divergent” movie series, Shailene said that she feels very proud to be a part of a franchise that does not exploit young love, and does not exploit what that really means, and really treats the subject tenderly.
Director opts out
Meanwhile, Robert Schwentke has opted out as Director for “Divergent: Ascendant,” the final installment of the movie franchise based on the Veronica Roth novel series that stars Theo James, Shailene Woodley, Miles Teller, Naomi Watts, and several others.
The producers are said to be now looking to find a director to keep the series on schedule for its scheduled June 9, 2017 release date on global theaters.
There was not much drama in the departure of Schwentke. After making the “Insurgent” and “Divergent: Allegiant” back to back, the director felt that he just needed a break and Lionsgate was more than happy to give it to him, reports Deadline.
Early last month, there have been reports that Ruth Kearney, the fiancé of Theo James, and Nahko Bear, the boyfriend of Shailene Woodley, were said to be heaving a sigh of relief that filming for the two remaining movies of the “Divergent” series had been completed.
The underlying reason for their happiness is that the continuing dating rumors between their lovers should be ending soon too.
Unfortunately for Ruth and Nahko, they have thought wrong. On the contrary, since the third movie of the “Divergent” series officially titled “Divergent: Allegiant” is about to be shown in global theaters this coming March, they should have expected otherwise.
So when the first trailer for the movie recently came out and it showed a steamy romance between Four and Tris, the characters being played in the series by Theo and Shailene, respectively, they knew that the dating rumors will be back to square one.
