Whatever hopes and notions that fans of the “Divergent” movie series are entertaining on the possibility of Theo James and Shailene Woodley dating or taking their on-cam chemistry to the next level in real life have come to an end, following reports that the British actor has already been engaged to his British actress-girlfriend Ruth Kearney.
Apparently, it was the best move on the part of both Theo James and Ruth Kearney to quash all speculations that their relationship is under threat from Shailene Woodley.
Because of their on-cam chemistry, most fans are hoping that Theo and Shailene, who plays Four and Tris, respectively, in the “Divergent” movie series based on the novel of Veronica Roth, should consider going out because they really look good together.
But as it is, fans got a major disappointment when Theo and Ruth finally got engaged after being in a relationship for a long time already, notes Venture Capital Post.
Not dating at all
Before reports of an engagement between Theo and Ruth, the British actor has already dismissed dating speculations during an interview with HLNTV recently.
James said that he and Shailene Woodley are just good friends and that they are not dating at all. He said that they are good professionals, before pulling it back by saying that he was just kidding and that what he actually meant is that he and Shailene get along great in the “Divergent” movie series.
The 30-year-old British actor had to make clarifications about the controversy as there have also been reports that he and Ruth have already broken up, which he denied matter-of-factly.
Breaking up from their on-screen romance
If there is a breakup that happened recently involving Theo and Shailene, it was their split from their on-screen romance after completing the first of the two-part third movie of the “Divergent” movie series officially titled “Divergent: Allegiant.”
After completing filming for their third movie together, which is due to hit theaters in March next year, both Theo and Shailene are now busy with their individual careers, notes Movie News Guide.
Theo James is currently working on two new films including “War On Everyone” and “The Secret Scripture” but both movies have yet to have release dates. Theo is also being rumored to become Christian Grey’s rival in the sequel to “Fifty Shades of Grey” which will be titled “Fifty Shades Darker.”
For her part, Shailene Woodley is now preparing for her upcoming thriller movie by Oliver Stone titled “Snowden” which is due to hit cinemas next year.
Despite their respective hectic schedules, Theo and Shailene will return again to the set soon to film the fourth and final movie of the “Divergent” movie series titled “Divergent: Ascending.”
Because of the rumors that Theo James and his “Divergent: Allegiant” co-star Shailene Woodley are getting closer to each other, subsequent speculations suggest that it has caused the breakup of James and his girlfriend, actress Ruth Kearney.
Without really meaning to dignify the speculations by responding or denying it squarely, Theo James and Ruth Kearney quashed those breakup rumors by showing up recently in New York City on a casual stroll and looking very much like a couple in love.
They were walking at the Big Apple on September 19 and having some deep and private conversation. James has just completed the shoot of Hugo Boss’ Scent advertisement in between filming breaks for the two-part “Divergent: Allegiant,” the concluding movies of the “Divergent” trilogy.
Latest reports also indicate that instead of simply being called as “Divergent: Allegiant Part 1” and “Divergent: Allegiant Part 2,” the concluding movies of the Divergent series will be “Divergent: Allegiant” and “Divergent: Ascending,” respectively.
In a recent interview, Theo James said that in as far as sense of confidence is concerned, he needed to have a style that is strong, confident, and elegant given his limited and selected wardrobe, just like most men do.
