Both James and Woodley have denied that they have taken their on-screen chemistry off-cam since the two of them are actually in a relationship. James is already engaged to Ruth Kearney, while Woodley, until recently, has been reported to be dating Nahko Bear.
James and Woodley, sort of dated during the filming of the third and fourth movies of the series, titled “Divergent: Allegiant” and “Divergent: Ascendant” respectively.
In a past interview, Theo James said that he and Shailene hung out a lot during the filming of the movie or movies and it was fun. He added that the cast was all staying in one apartment, sharing a bed. He and Shailene shared one bed and they were spooning every night, the actor disclosed.
According to some reports, Theo James wanted to practice the kissing scenes with Shailene Woodley all the time.
James also shared in jest that he went to their kissing scenes hard because he thought that’s how Shailene wanted it. He admitted that he just wanted to practice the kissing scene with Shailene as much as possible. In fact, he says to her after dinner that they should practice the kissing scene so that they come clean about it.
