Taking a break from the show

In the early goings of this week on “The Young and the Restless,” Victor, played by Eric Braeden, is shown gambling big time but the fallout is that Adam Newman, played by Justin Hartley, may be gone for good.

Interestingly, Victor’s partner in his latest caper came as a surprise to viewers of “The Young and the Restless because it turned out that it is Nikki Newman, played by Melody Scott, who was his co-conspirator in aiding and abetting a criminal.

Allowing Adam to escape alone and remain at large make sense. In fact, the viewers were not surprised when Chelsea, played by Melissa Egan, encouraged Adam to get away as she and their son Connor, played by twins Gunner and Ryder Gadbois, stayed behind.

A few weeks back, Nicholas Newman, played by Joshua Morrow, promised Adam that he will take care of Chelsea and Connor. And it is something that Adam will hold on to during his escape. Nick plans to be with Chelsea as she tries to cope with her life without Adam.

While his character may not be entirely out of the soap opera, but the Adam going away storyline was a ruse to give Justin Hartley a break from the show to work on his primetime series “This Is Us,” reports the Christian Post.
