National City was again visited by another race of aliens, they unfortunately like Mon-El and Kara were not interested in saving the world. While in the Earth inhabited by Supergirl, neither is there exactly a shortage of aliens, nor are they an uncommon concept. Although, this particular kind did not come in peace.
They were a hostile species called the White Martians who are responsible for the murder of J’onn’s alien family. Not just that they were also guilty of committing genocide against their race as well. A White Martian was all set to make an appearance on Monday’s episode on Supergirl.
In an episode titled The Martian Chronicle, Supergirl will feature a White Martian called Armek, who will spread destruction on the DEO. The character of Armek was seen to be portrayed on screen by guest star Terrell Tilford. Tilford is popular for his roles in much-loved soap operas like One Life To Live and Days of Our Lives.
Another popular character from which we might know him is, as Eric Bishop from Freeform’s Switched At Birth. Although it might take some time to get used to seeingEric as the evil Armek.
The episode on January 30 showed M’gann”s fear when she came to the realization that she might be in danger, as the White Martians are going to come looking for her. It seems that this fear is lastly going to be shed some light on if we are to trust the synopsis of The Martian Chronicles.
It was Armek’s plan to come to the National City and take M’gann back to Mars, where he would be punished for being a traitor. So quite obviously, Kara and J’onn bring M’gann to the DEO, where they are confident M’gann would have been safe and protected from the notorious Armek.Armek, on the other hand, seemed to have other plans.
According to DC Comics lore, Armek is a fellow to the Hyperclan, which an alien superteam that visits Earth claiming to be the last remaining survivors of a demolished world. They arrive informing people they traveled through space to discover planets that are in requirement of rescuing.
Their real agenda, though, is brainwashing the public against the “good” superheroes, like the Justice League of America.
A sneak peek of the February 6 episode, revealed how much trouble Armek is capable of creating and also how powerful he is. The clip demonstrated Armek assaulting Hank, who attempts to defendM’gann. He is unable to compete with the White Martian, still, and when it almost looks like he’s done for; Supergirl comes to save the day.
It looks like the old axiom to trust no one came into the equation when Armek tried to get his revenge by shape-shifting into M’gann. Not only could Armek be pretending to be M’gann, but he could also decide to be anyone in the DEO.
This increased the chances of causing danger not only to Hank but to everyone involved with Kara as well. There was also the possibility that Armek’s attack could have strengthened Hank’s relationship with M’gann, particularly since they were going to be teaming up to combat an alien that they both abhorred.
Armek might be harmful, but what was exciting, was to see what wrath he would unleash on the DEO. Since he could disguise himself as anybody, it provided some of the actors a chance to play someone else other than their part; this made the premise really great fun and suspenseful to watch.
