The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Releases Free Quest DLC!

This week’s free DLC for the famous “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” appears to be a new quest, called “Where the Cat and Wolf Play”. The game’s developers have just revealed details on the new quest, explaining what players will have to do in order to complete it. And at a glance, it appears to be a Witcher contract – with the exact details confirming that.

The quest will take players on a trip through a village that’s been abandoned a long time ago, letting them uncover a horrific secret little by little. All of the village’s inhabitants are gone, but it’s not immediately obvious what happened to them. As the story progresses, the players learns that the villagers have been brutally slaughtered – but by who, and for what reason?

The player will eventually go up a mysterious, strange force that will require careful use of their full arsenal of skills in order to defeat. We don’t know exactly what it is that’s terrorized the village and killed off all of its inhabitants, but the preview for the quest certainly makes it sound very interesting and appealing.

Players have to go to the Oreton village in Velen to get the new contract. We’re watching out for reports from players who’ve completed the quest to the end, as it’s going to be one of the more interesting pieces of the story to see completed.

There are more free DLCs to come, three to be precise – the studio’s work on their original plan for supporting the game has been coming along quite nicely, and they seem to be determined to give their players the best possible experience with the title even after its release. It’s not often that we see studios so devoted to their products nowadays, as many companies seem happy enough to just get their money from the initial release and forget about the game afterwards.

But in the case of CD Projekt Red, the studio is very responsible towards their players and they’re doing their best to make sure that everyone who’s bought the game gets enough enjoyment out of it, even if they didn’t find the contents of the original game to be enough.

We can’t say that we don’t see why they do this though – the company’s popularity is easily among the best in the industry, and they have a fantastic reputation among their fans because of this situation and their ethics as a whole. As a result, the studio may occasionally make a mistake but that’s quickly forgiven by their fans – people know they can trust them in general.

On the other hand, with some other studios even the smallest mistake gets quickly amplified into more serious disasters by the community’s response, especially when it comes to companies like EA that have a traditionally negative reputation.

The current plan of CD Projekt Red is to keep the game supported for at least two more years. They are going to release more content for it during that time, and polish the base game with more bug fixes and additional details. There are still some issues that can be addressed, and we’ll likely see them ironed out in the next months as the company keeps releasing more updates for the game.

After that, they’re going to start working on the next game in their pipeline, which however is not going to be an entry in the same series. “The Witcher” will have to be put aside for the time being, as the company is going to focus on another project.
