The critically-acclaimed role-playing game “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” is already in the video game retail market for a year and a half already and critics and gamers alike have been saying that the PC edition of the game is better compared to its counterpart in the gaming consoles.
When Polish game developer CD Projekt Red released the first “The Witcher” game, it came out exclusively on the PC. Subsequently, versions on the gaming consoles came out.
Which is why it is no wonder that gamers and critics are now saying that “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” PC version is very definitive compared to those that was released last year on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, reports Trusted Reviews.
Regardless of which version a gamer plays, however, “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” is a worthwhile gaming experience especially considering the fact that it won a number of Game of the Year awards last year and is considered as one of the best video games this year. That also speaks a lot about how good CD Projekt Red was in making sure that the third and final iteration of the popular “The Witcher” video game series comes out excellent.
Raising the bar for its genre
“The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” is set in a nightmarish fantasy world where assassins rub shoulders with undead monsters and mythical beasts.
It picked up where PC classics like “Ultima VII” left off, offering the player a vast and highly detailed world and allowing them to tackle it in whatever manner they see fit.
Gamers can lose themselves for hours in the lush countryside, or seek out adventure and side-quests in order to raise their experience and gain gold. Or, if they prefer, simply stick to the main story, which involves the titular Wild Hunt and its sinister quest.
Critics have been in consensus in describing “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” as a truly remarkable role-playing game which raises the bar for the genre.
A spin-off card game
The upcoming spin-off “Gwent: The Witcher Card Game” will be more “Heartstone” than “Pokemon Go” says critics because it does not have any strolling or nagging.
The card game has had its closed beta since last month and reports have it that it will run up to spring next year before it finally comes out.
While they are being compared to one another as of late, “Gwent: The Witcher Card Game” is nothing like “Pokemon Go.” In “Pokemon Go,” the players look like pests, hanging around congested pavements and getting in the way and there is nothing of that sort with “Gwent: The Witcher Card Game,” reports Rock Paper Shotgun.
It would be downright absurd if players asked for any Gwent cards to sell and being bugged for battles because non-playable characters in the game would have groaned every time they see Geralt of Rivia wandering the streets, deck in hand, and a hopeful look on his face.
“Gwent: The Witcher Card Game” is a mini-game in “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.” It is a collectible card game with warriors, monsters, and wizards. They are split into melee, ranged, and siege units with their own damage scores, and gamers trying to field an army with a higher combined total.
Naturally, some cards have abilities like killing units, weakening them, bringing them back, drawing cards, and so on. It’s interesting for splitting each match into a best-of-three without drawing extra cards between rounds, so gamers need to pick their battles carefully.
Some critics actually regard the game as one of the longest games that they have come to play after a long, long while. It is one kind of video game that they want to complete even if it would take long hours to do so.
