After it made the announcement that the Game of the Year Edition of the critically-acclaimed role-playing game “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” will come out on August 30, Polish game developer CD Projekt Red has just unraveled a new feature of the game that would be to the disappointment of the players on the gaming consoles.
The developer said that the saved files and achievements from the original “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” game will not be available in the new version of the game in the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
Marcin Mormont, the community manager of CD Projekt Red, confirmed that the saved files and accomplishments on the gaming consoles will not be compatible with different versions as they will be treated by the system as different objects, notes Game & Guide.
He explained that it is no longer their fault anymore if the saved files and achievements are no longer compatible with the new version.
However, when it comes to the PC version of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” Game of the Year Edition, the save files shall still be available because of the more open system architecture of the PC.
If the gamers’ intention is to acquire the expansions, they might consider buying the Season Pass as it will be a more economical option since they will have the same stuff as the person who will have purchase the Game of the Year Edition of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.”
Separate trophy and achievement list
Mormont also disclosed that “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” Game of the Year Edition, which is also referred to as the Complete Edition, shall have a separate Trophy and Achievement list.
Reports also have it that CD Projekt Red shall release a patch of the game shortly after the release of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” Game of the Year Edition on August 30.
The game’s upcoming edition shall be including all the previously released DLCs including the expansions “Hearts of Stone” and “Blood and Wine.”
The new version shall give those who have yet to enjoy the last digital trials and tribulations of Geralt of Rivia the perfect opportunity to jump in, and have everything that was released for the game available in one handy package, notes the Lazygamer.net.
Mormont also expressed his gratitude to gamers who are looking to buy and play “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” Game of the Year Edition and he guaranteed that it is not just a collector’s edition, it is also going to be worth it.
150 hours of adventures
CD Projekt Red promises gamers of 150 hours of open world adventures with “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” Game of the Year Edition.
But just like in the original game, players will play as professional monster slayer Geralt of Rivia in the latest version of the game.
In the “Hearts of Stone” DLC, they will ultimately face off against a ruthless bandit captain while in the “Blood and Wine” DLC, they will have to discover for themselves the terrifying secret of the beautiful Toussaint region.
The upcoming Game of the Year Edition of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” shall also include the base game. In addition to the two major DLCs, it will also have every update and improvement ever released on the game.
The special edition of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” just like its original version, shall also come to the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC.
CD Projekt Red has not yet given the official price for “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” but Amazon is already making available for pre-order the Complete Edition for $49.99.
