‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’ Expansion Pack ‘Blood & Wine’ Features a Character Reminiscent of Arya Stark of Game of Thrones

The final expansion pack to the critically-acclaimed and commercially successful role-playing game “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” has just came out on May 31 and critics have since been giving their reviews of it.

Officially titled “Blood & Wine,” the DLC brings loads of high-quality gameplay with more than 20 hours of additional content, much to the delight of gamers.

Typical with DLCs for “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,” it also contains its fair share of fun little secrets, which is often referred to in gaming parlance as the game’s Easter eggs.

One gamer, a YouTuber with the fanciful name of FluffyNinjaLlama, has recently discovered an Easter egg on the “Blood & Wine” DLC of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” that actually pays homage to a very popular character in the HBO hit TV series “Game of Thrones.”

The specific Easter egg can be found in a pub in Toussaint. When game protagonist Geralt of Rivia went to the pub to partake in the Gwent card game in order to get some stronger Skellige faction cards, a young girl reminiscent of Arya Stark, played by Maissie Williams in the TV series, pesters him.

The girl keeps on asking Geralt of Rivia with a lot of questions including whether indeed winter is coming or whether he knows how to swing a sword left-handed, to which the girl says she does.

The young lass even tells Geralt that she had a dream where she is a wolf, which is a clear reference to Arya Stark’s warg bond with her direwolf Nymeria mentioned in the lore of the fantasy novel series “A Song of Ice and Fire” by critically-acclaimed author George R.R. Martin, notes Gamerant.

The non-playable character also does not have a name but is simply called ‘Girl,’ which is again a reference to how the Faceless Man describes and calls Arya Stark in “Game of Thrones.”

Not the first time

It is obvious that the developers of CD Projekt Red are fans of “Game of Thrones” which is based on George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” fantasy novel series.

Last year, the character of Tyrion Lannister was included as an Easter egg in one of the elevated dungeons in “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” reminiscent of the time when the dwarf character of “Game of Thrones” was imprisoned by Catelyn Stark and her sister-in-law in the Vale.

It is obvious that the developers have an affinity for “Game of Thrones” and they understand the crossover appeal of what they’re doing to add more excitement to the already very exciting game.

“The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” DLC is now available on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, and the initial reviews thus far for “Blood & Wine” all indicate positive and very warm reception.

Farewell for Geralt of Rivia

As the last DLC for “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,” the “Blood & Wine” expansion pack is also considered as the farewell of sorts to Geralt of Rivia. CD Projekt Red will move on from “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” and focus on its other ventures.

“Blood & Wine” has Toussaint for a setting. It is a grand new region with a major plotline as well as a lot of side quests dotted around the world that can be picked up from the notice boards in the little villages, or encountered when meeting certain individuals, details The Sixth Axis.

The place is really a beautiful setting with its own distinct style, with vineyards dotting the landscape and the wine they make as a key part of life.

Geralt has been invited to Toussaint by Duchess Annarietta, ruler of the region, to help with a monster that has been dubbed as the Beast of Beauclair. The creature has already killed a number of knights and people fear that the Beast has been sent as a punishment for their sins.
