Now that “The Witcher 3” has been out for a while and players have had a chance to play around with the new game, some opinions have started to form about its quality and overall presentation, and most players seem happy with what CD Projekt Red have delivered. The studio has also been releasing expansions that add even more to the title and improve its overall presentation and quality by a large margin, and this seems to be a standard trend with them as they are usually very determined to keep their fans happy for as long as possible with a new release.
At the same time, players on the Xbox One have been reporting some problems during their playing, mostly related to the game’s performance – according to reports, there are noticeable framerate drops in some occasions and players have had to get accustomed to dealing with them on a regular basis on the console. Meanwhile, the studio is already on the case and they’ve been investigating the issue to get to its root cause, but so far to no avail.
They’ve even turned to the community for assistance, asking their fans if they could give them help with reproducing the issue and showing the studio how it typically happens. There are apparently various factors that could play into this problem, and some of them are on the user’s side, so players need to be careful with how their consoles are configured before complaining about poor performance.
The studio is apparently looking to collect some rather detailed information about the game’s state when the problems occur, asking their players to give them as much detailed information as possible about the nature of the problems they are encountering. They’ve provided a full list of points that they want players to focus on, including their exact location when the problem occurs, the state of their game (what quest they’re on and so on), as well as any other conditions related to the context which could shed some light on the situation.
It seems like even the studio itself is a bit puzzled by these constant performance issues, and sometimes the problem is not even limited to framerate drops – according to reports, in some cases the game suffers from other types of performance problems such as blurry textures and general stutter, things that can be somewhat hard to diagnose especially when the problems are manifesting in different ways for all players.
We are confident that the company is going to get over these issues quickly though, as they know their game better than anyone else and they know exactly what could be causing these problems in the end, they just need to pinpoint the issue and release a patch that addresses it. Hopefully that’s going to happen soon enough as many players have been expressing disappointment over the current state of “The Witcher 3” on the Xbox One and have been hoping that the studio would work faster on the issue.
Meanwhile, the game keeps getting praise for the quality of its additional downloadable content, something that CD Projekt Red have been handling very well since the very first day of the game. They not only know how to release good add-ons for the title, but they also know how to communicate those changes with the community properly to avoid any confusion and to ensure that their fans are always satisfied with what’s coming, and that everyone is on the same page.
