That actually raises some interesting questions. Is it really such a good idea to make a game that expansive and full of so much content? If players end up giving up on it at some point, that might actually be a bit detrimental to its success.
It could also be seen as a waste of developer resources – if players don’t see half of what the game has to offer in general, that’s a bit of a problem. At the same time, what they do see ends up liked by pretty much everyone, and we can’t ignore that.
In any case, there’s no denying that “The Witcher 3” has been a massive success and the game is going to enjoy a lot of attention in the next few months, or even longer. Even though many of its players might not see more than half of its total contents, they’re likely still going to exit the experience with a very positive impression and won’t regret having spent the time with it.
