In memoriam: Every main character who perished in Game of Thrones season 6
While speaking about the book’s content, the author George RR Martin said recently that right now there are a lot of dark chapters from the book that he is writing. He said the book’s name was The Winds of Winter and he also added that he has been warning the audience of his fans for 20 years that winter was coming.
He further explained that since winter is the time when things wither and die off, darkness and cold ice fill the world up, so it is only natural that this book will be a dark one and not the happy feel good one that people might expect.
Martin also said that some of the characters are in very dark places in the book. He further added that in any story, the classic construction is, ‘Things get worse before they get better,’ so things are indeed getting worse for a lot of the characters.
Meanwhile, HBO has lately released the first clip from season seven of Game of Throne, featuring Jon Snow, Sansa Stark and The Girl Who Previously Had No Name, Arya.
Some fans have optimistically developed theories that the reason The Winds of Winter is taking so long is that George R.R. Martin is preparing to release both the books and its follow-up, A Dream of Spring, at the same time. Although, this is only wishful thinking.
