The author said that writer’s block is not to be blamed on the cause of the delay but the plenty of distractions all over him.
He explained that all of the work that he has been doing other than writing his novels create problems because those are all distractions. Because the books that he has written have become so popular, he has to do interviews every now and then. He also needs to travel constantly.
Martin said that he gets to be invited to travel to South Africa or Dubai and he is not about to pass up those free trips.
He admitted that he does not write when he is on travel and he does not write while he is on his hotel rooms or on airplanes. He said that the only way he can write is when he is on his own house undisturbed.
He said that most of his life, nobody was bothering him but now, he gets bothered almost every day. He also stated that he has assistants and minions whose main job is to make sure that people don’t bother him so that he can get his writing done, but apparently, the interview itself indicate that a lot of things still pass through his assistants.
It is all very simple…She is jealous. The Game of Thrones series is much more vast and complex than The Outlander… There is absolutely no contest between the two universes. She may scribble down romantic plots and surprises but Martin is a world builder akin to Tolkien. Let him do his stuff. Enough badgering.
