The seventh season of the post-apocalyptic horror drama TV series is set to premiere on AMC on October 23 and every fan of the show is waiting with bated breath on who is the actual victim of Negan and Lucille as shown in the Season 6 finale.
Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, is the leader of the Saviors and Lucille is his barbed wire-laced baseball bat which he used to batter his victim to a pulp.
But Negan and the Saviors will not just be the ones that the Alexandra group of Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, will be dealing with in the upcoming Season 7 of “The Walking Dead.”
Back in Season 6, Rick’s group had to deal with two factions – the Saviors and the Hilltop group led by Gregory, who turned out to be merely serving the needs and caprices of Negan.
With Rick and his group down on their knees and a major casualty, it seems clear that they will be the next servants of Negan and the Saviors for their needs in the upcoming season.
Reports have it that it won’t be for long as other factions of survivors shall be showing up and make things messy for the “The Walking Dead,” turning it into some sort of “Clash of Clans,” the popular mobile strategy video game.
In fact, there are also rumors saying that Negan is not actually the big bad in Season 7 but someone else. The same speculations are also saying that Negan’s Saviors and Rick’s group shall eventually settle their differences and work together against the common nemesis.
However, everything at this point is mere speculation pending the confirmation from the showrunners or cast members. Until then, fans and viewers have no other recourse but to wait for the premiere of Season 7 on October 23.
A poker-face leader
There are reports saying that the producers are looking to cast a character named Brion who is supposed to be an educated and poker-face leader, who could be in-charge of a different group of survivors, notes BGR.
It is not yet clear whether Brion is going to be a male or female but he or she is out to ensure the survival of his or her group just like Rick and Negan are.
Accordingly, the character shall appear in episode 10 and episode 12 of Season 7 of “The Walking Dead” and could also return for the final two episodes of the season, which means that he or she might have an important role to play in Season 8.
Speculations are rife that Brion might be a version of Magna, the tough-as-nails leader of a small nickname-less group that Jesus once had an encounter with.
There are also reports that the Oceanside group to be led by Pete shall also be around in Season 7 of “The Walking Dead” as well as the Whisperers, who are reportedly going to be the main villains of the TV series next season.
There are even reports that the Whisperers could be lead by a female, which is also another speculation.
Filming for second half of Season 7
Michonne, played by Danai Gurira, is one of the four or five characters who were rumored to become the possible victim of Negan.
With filming for the second half of Season 7 of “The Walking Dead” under way, it is now clear that Michonne is not going to be the one who will be kicking the bucket.
Photos recently released by AMC for the Season 7B filming of “The Walking Dead” showed Michonne, along with Rick, Tara, played by Alanna Masterson, and Aaron, played by Ross Marquand, which only indicates that the four of them will make it past Negan and Lucille.
That being said, shippers of ‘Richonne’ shall be very happy to know that the romantic interlude will continue between two of the main cast of “The Walking Dead,” notes Moviefone.
