It has been previously reported that Negan and his Saviors are not going to be the big bad in Season 7 of the post-apocalyptic horror drama series “The Walking Dead” on AMC.
There were even reports saying that Rick Grimes and his group from Alexandra would eventually patch up their differences with Negan and his Saviors and they would team up to fight an even bigger enemy.
However, there are now reports going around saying that Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, is still going to be the big bad for “The Walking Dead” Season 7, the way he and his Saviors were during Season 6.
According to latest reports, there shall be an All Out War storyline in “The Walking Dead” Season 7 which is also based on the comic book source material and it shall feature Rick, played by Andrew Lincoln, working together with other groups to topple Negan from his lofty perch.
The TV series shall reportedly focus on the tension between Negan and the other communities in “The Walking Dead” Season 7 and Rick would rally the other groups against Negan.
In Season 6, the only other group that was shown is the Hilltop headed by Gregory, which was introduced to Rick and company by Jesus.
Going through a rough patch first
It was “The Walking Dead” Director Greg Nicotero who confirmed of the All Out War storyline in the seventh season of the hit TV series.
He said that Rick and his group will have to get through a rough patch first with the other groups of survivors before they can move on.
Nicotero hinted that things are going to get a lot worse before it gets better for Rick’s group and it is going to be pretty intense.
The director said that they have to take the new direction because they are already opening a new chapter of “The Walking Dead” TV series.
He added that it is the anticipation and the excitement of new worlds that fans are going to see including the Hilltop, the Kingdom, and the Sanctuary where Negan lives.
Reunion of Carol and Daryl
During the Season 6 of “The Walking Dead,” Carol, played by Melissa Mcbride, decided to walk away from Alexandra after having that personal realization that she has become a different person already.
In fact, it was the search for her that triggered the capture of 11 of her companions from Alexandra by the Saviours and Negan, and one of them has become the first official victim of Negan and Lucille, his barbed wire-laced baseball bat.
Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus, happened to be one of the three characters being rumored to become Negan’s victim. The first one is, of course, Steven Yeun’s Glenn and the second is Michael Cudlitz’s Abraham.
It looks like Daryl is off the hook already as recent behind-the-set photos from the ongoing filming of “The Walking Dead” Season 7 shows Daryl having that much-awaited reunion of sort with Carol.
The two actors were spotted filming for episode 10 of Season 7 of “The Walking Dead” which confirms that Daryl survived Negan’s first assault on Rick’s group.
However, there are also reports saying that after killing one from the Alexandra group, Negan will hold Daryl captive while releasing the others in order to ensure that Rick and company would abide by Negan’s wishes or Daryl dies.
With Daryl already out of Negan’s captivity, it looks like the fan-favorite character will manage to survive the ordeals that Negan will subject him into.
For her part, Carol is reportedly headed towards Ezekiel and the Kingdom during the Season 6 finale and seeing her with Daryl again also means that she managed to escape and get back to her group also.
