The big reveal for the Season 6 cliffhanger of the American post-apocalyptic horror survival drama TV series “The Walking Dead” would only be made in 10 to 15 minutes of the Season 7 premiere and the show would soon be off to a new direction.
The confirmation came no less from executive producer and director Greg Nicotero who said in a recent interview that the future of “The Waking Dead” will change up the most recent semblance of a status quo, reports Cinema Blend.
Nicotero said that the seventh season of “The Walking Dead” shall be very different from the one that fans of the show have been accustomed to.
He said that he believes that fans will enjoy that the TV series continues to change direction and does not just deliver the same thing over and over again.
The director also confirmed that Season 7 shall veer away big time from the source material, “The Walking Dead” comic books written by co-executive producer Robert Kirkman.
Nicotero said that he does not think that the TV series would be doing the material justice if they just regurgitated it word for word. However, he said that the iconic moments in the comic books shall still be taken on in the TV series. He added that if may not be exactly the same way in the comic books, but they will find a way for fans of the graphic novel to feel that they are getting their money’s worth.
Negan’s victim getting close to being revealed
Filming for the Season 7 of “The Waking Dead” has already begun which is just about right before the TV series returns to AMC on October 9.
Based on latest reports, three series regulars in Chandler Riggs, who plays Carl, Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie, and Sonequa Martin-Green, who plays Sasha, have been spotted near the studio recently and around the walled Hilltop set.
It could be recalled that the three characters were among those who lined up for Negan’s introductory kill. The sighting means that the three are not going to be the victim of Negan and Lucille. It is also very remote if Negan takes out Rick or Daryl as they are the main protagonists of the show, notes Design & Trend.
That leaves at least five characters in the list including Glen, Abraham, Michonne, Rosita, and Eugene, in that order of being killed most likely.
Based on fan and critics’ analysis or speculations, Glenn is most likely the victim followed by Abraham. Michonne’s absence seems curious but she does take a break from her Alexandria family in the comic books.
The identity of Negan’s finale victim has been speculated for months but it would only be a matter of time before the truth or the answer becomes clear.
Michonne makes it to third possible victim
Despite threats from AMC that they will file a lawsuit to websites or entities who would continue to reveal leaks about the upcoming seventh season of “The Walking Dead,” the internet has never been remiss with new information or possible spoilers for Season 7.
Recently, leaked photos from The Spoiling Dead Fans hinted that Michonne has been added to the shortlist of those whom Negan might have beaten to a pulp with Lucille during the Season 6 finale.
According to the report, Michonne could be Negan’s victim to fuel more rage and inflict more pain to Rick and the viewers as well.
But it would also be a risk on the part of the producers and showrunner because Michonne has evolved to become one of the fan-favorite characters of “The Walking Dead.”
Meanwhile, AMC has announced that the official premiere date of “The Walking Dead” Season 7 would be on October 9.
