Mellisa McBride was absent but showed up via video clip. Speaking to Deadline, executive producer Anne Hurd said that people shouldn’t read much into the situation, clarifying that Mcbride was not able to attend ComicCon because of her conflicting schedules.
Before the show premieres its newest season, AMC will air a behind-the-scenes “The Walking Dead Season 7 Preview Special” on August 15 and a two-hour retrospective with the working title “The Walking Dead Recap Special” slated to air on October 16.
According to Cinema Blend, new characters will also join this season. A character named Jennie will be introduced in the sixth episode. Jennie is described as a perky teenager who has remained optimistic in spite of all the chaos surrounding her.
In the same episode, fans will also meet Naomi, an older survivor who has practically watched everyone she knew and love die. Someone named Rodgers, who aims to protect everyone, will also be introduced in Season 7 too.
As per the website, certain casting calls were made for this characters but it still remains unknown who will portray these new “TWD” characters.
