Episode 8 of Season 6 of the American holocaust survival horror drama TV series “The Walking Dead” featured how throngs of walkers have run over the walls of Alexandria.
The walls, made up of galvanized G.I. sheets, gave way to the deluge of waiting walkers when a burned building collapsed and crashed onto it.
While there was no massacre as residents of Alexandria managed to run and hide into their homes amid the onslaught of walkers, it featured the death of a major character in Deanna Monroe, played by Tovah Feldshuh.
The walker assault on Alexandria came just weeks after the assault of the wolves on their place that left a lot of residents dead.
The mid-season finale left a huge cliffhanger as Rick and company have to outsmart the walkers by covering themselves with walker guts and stepping out of the house and rub elbows with the zombies. Unfortunately, the youngest son of Jessie Anderson, played by Alexandra Breckenridge, started calling out his mother which alerted the walkers that someone alive is in their midst.
It is expected that Rick and company and the surviving members of the Alexandria community will draw help from the arriving Darryl, Sasha, and Abraham.
It can be recalled that during episode 7, Abraham managed to get a rocket-propelled grenade launcher from a military walker hanging on a bridge. He also managed to get a box that contains ammunition for the RPG launcher and he is likely to use it on walkers on episode 9 upon their return to Alexandria.
Glen and Enid are also just within the vicinity of Alexandria so they might likely be able to contribute in rescuing the people from walkers, particularly Maggie, who was trapped on the watch platform of Alexandria.
Valentine’s Day return
Episode 9 of “The Walking Dead” would air on AMC on February 14, 2016, and according to executive producer Scott Gimple, it is going to be the biggest episode yet for Season 6 of the TV series.
In a recent interview, Gimple said that the mid-season premiere of “The Walking Dead” will feature chaos, terror, heartbreak, heroics, and tragedy, notes Melty.
The heartbreak and tragedy in his statement seem to indicate that there will be casualties and that the expected massacre at Alexandria will likely happen on episode 9.
Executive producer Robert Kirkman also confirmed the hint of Gimple when he said that there will be so many people who will die in the next episode, leading fans to speculate that the mid-season premiere will be the show’s game-changing episode.
Negan is coming
It is likely that Rick and a small group will be able to survive the walker assault on Alexandria, but their group is up for another major challenge.
Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan is now openly expressing his excitement for the role of the new big bad on “The Walking Dead” named Negan.
In a recent interview, Morgan said that he was very ecstatic for getting the role of Negan. He said that he has always been a follower of “The Walking Dead” TV series so when the producers offered his agent the role, there were no second thoughts at all as far as he was concerned.
He said that he was familiar with the show because he has been watching it. He also said that he has a foot in the comic book world because he grew up with his uncle’s comic books at his grandma’s house. He says he always love his comic book reading.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan will smoothly stroll into “The Walking Dead” TV series as the leader of a well-armed well-organized group of thieving apocalypse survivors called The Saviors, details the Den of Geek.
Negan is typically brutal and unforgivable and earlier reports have it that he is worst than the Governor, previously played by David Morrissey.
