‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6 Speculations Point to a Possible Death of Maggie!

In the third episode of the current Season 6 of the American holocaust survival horror drama TV series “The Walking Dead,” the fate of Glenn, played by Steven Yeun, was left hanging in the balance as his body appeared to be swarmed upon by walkers who feasted on the dead body of Nicolas on top of him after both of them fell from the top of a dumpster.

As shown during episode 7, Glenn was able to extricate himself from the sticky situation by pulling himself under the dumpster and the walkers can no longer reach him.

After waiting it out for some time under the dumpster, he finally came out and joined Enid as they returned to Alexandria. Eventually, they release the green balloons just outside the walls to signal that they survived the mission, which Rick and Maggie saw.

As Glenn and Enid were looking for ways to get into Alexandria amid all the idle walkers lurking outside the fence made up of galvanized G.I. sheets, a burned building collapsed and crashed onto it.

As a result, the walkers overran the walls and started coming after the surprised residents of Alexandria, who all scampered to their respective houses and locked themselves up.

While there was no massacre as residents of Alexandria managed to run and hide into their homes amid the onslaught of walkers, it featured the death of a major character in Deanna Monroe, played by Tovah Feldshuh.

The walker assault on Alexandria came just weeks after the assault of the wolves on their place that left a lot of the residents dead.

Huge cliffhanger

The mid-season finale left a huge cliffhanger as Rick and company have to outsmart the walkers by covering themselves with walker guts and getting out of the house and rub elbows with the zombies. Unfortunately, the youngest son of Jessie Anderson, played by Alexandra Breckenridge, started calling out his mother.

Another character whose fate was left hanging in the balance during the mid-season finale is Maggie, played by Lauren Cohan. She was very near the walls when the building collapsed onto it and she had to run to the elevated watch deck to escape the oncoming walkers. Unfortunately, she has nowhere else to go despite perched on top and away from the arms of swarming walkers.

Latest rumors about the second half of Season 6 of “The Walking Dead” now point to a possible death of Maggie.

The speculations began when Lauren Cohan debuted her new hairdo on December 18 where she already cut off her longish wavy hair. Accordingly, it could mean that she will be bidding the show goodbye because, as an actress of the popular TV series, there is no way she can cut her hair that short and appear in the show as if nothing happened.

Some fans of the TV series believe that it could be a cause for alarm as that may mean that Lauren Cohan may already be leaving the show after Season 6 because the creators may have decided to kill off her character for good, notes Youth Health Mag.

It is unlikely that fans can get confirmation from Lauren Cohan since the actress would certainly not want to give them spoilers for the next half of Season 6 of “The Walking Dead.”

A big heartbreaker

Assuming the rumors are true, the death of Maggie would be a big heartbreaker for the avid fans of “The Walking Dead” since they have followed the romantic relationship of Maggie and Glenn for the most part of the TV series amid all their countless near-death experiences.

But “The Walking Dead” is one of the few shows on TV these days that does not care much about what its audience feel for certain characters, even if they are fan-favorites because it wants more to emphasize the drama of surviving a holocaust than focus on personal struggles.

But there are also some fans who think that Maggie will not be killed off in Season 6 because filming for the TV show has just wrapped up late in November. It is likely that production for Season 7 will begin around June or July next year so her hair would be able to grow back by then.

Design & Trend also believes that “The Walking Dead” producers should feature more about Maggie and Glenn in the second half of Season 6 as that is what fans of the show want.
