The Walking Dead Season 5 Will Finish With A Darker Rick Grimes!

The Walking Dead just finished up the first half of season 5 and for the most part, has been pretty revealing when it comes to things that you wish you knew last season. The internet does not help those that want to watch the show at a later time or even another day since fans take to sites like Facebook and Twitter as soon as a show is over just to talk about how it went. Most of the time, you can avoid spoilers because they are marked, but not all of the time.

The mid-season finale was quite interesting and showed us once again that not a single person on the show is safe from death, or the walkers for that matter. The end of the show brought out a darker side of Rick Grimes and was highlighted by the death of Beth. What most sources are reporting about the second half of the season is that Rick Grimes is going to be even darker.

Almost as soon as the mid-season finale was over, the internet was buzzing with places fans thought the show was going to go. Scott Gimple made comments that the entire group is going to go through some tough times and that Rick Grimes was no exception to that rule. As if the times they had endured up to this point were not hard enough. Murdering Officer Lamson in the last show was just a “key to Rick’s development” according to Gimple.

The last 8 episodes are going to close up, or at least follow closely all of the events that unfolded in the first eight according to Gimple. The show is not exactly about cheering and sunshine, but apparently those that are close to the show say it is about to get a lot darker. The show is going to return in February of next year and it will start with the morning of Beth, by everyone. Everything that happens from that point forward is going to “cement” Rick even further into a much more aggressive stance against the world.

The Walking Dead Season 5

Rick is taking on the role of safe-keeper and plans to do what it takes to keep the people safe and his family safe. Besides some seemingly easy miscues throughout the first few seasons, Rick has always defended the group and those that he loved, so where exactly his character is going to go is unclear. Gimple said that Rick is going to be in charge and you do not want to be the one up against him.
