Following the 14th episode aired on March 15, regarded as the goriest yet by both critics and televiewers, Season 5 of “The Walking Dead” is obviously priming itself to a frenetic finale with its last two remaining episodes.
The TV show is set to cap off its fifth season on March 29 with the episode titled “Conquer.” Next week, the 15th episode titled “Try” would set the tone for another exciting and gory wind up to AMC’s horror-drama TV series.
Forbes describes the March 15 episode titled “Spend” as having one of the goriest and most grotesque moments in all of the five seasons of the TV series. In fact, there have been a few moments that were so unsettling that fans would surely find difficult to watch all those gory details.
Power struggle at Alexandria
Before episode 14, it seems that Rick’s group has finally found a safe haven in Alexandria headed by Deanna. In fact, for the first time since the first season, Rick was finally able to wear his police officer uniform once again.
The episode actually highlighted two kinds of power struggle in Alexandria. The first one is when Deanna started feeling uneasy that members of Rick’s group, which they refer to as survivors, are gradually taking over the major activities of the community particularly with regards to safety and other important decisions.
The second kind of power problem is the actual power itself of the town, necessitating for a small group of six composed of Glenn, Eugene, Tara, Nicholas, Aidan and Noah to head out to find the necessary parts and repair Alexandria’s solar panels.
Things were going well when Aidan shoots a grenade attached to a walker and they were all swarmed by walkers. As a result of the melee, Aidan and Noah got killed by the walkers and only the four of them returned even as Nicholas was manhandled by both Glenn and Eugene for losing it while Tara was unconscious in the van.
Winding up for an exhilarating finish
Over at Alexandria, Maggie was able to overhear Father Gabriel talking to Deanna saying that Rick’s group are evil and they are trying to destroy everything that she has built.
Meanwhile Carol has come to the conclusion that the town’s doctor Pete is abusing Sam, his son by Jessie, and suggests to Rick to help the family by killing Pete.
The remaining two episodes would likely shed light on what or who the wolves, which have run over Noah’s family, are. It could be a new group of bad guys similar in the comics, or it could be the wild and zombie-like dogs.
Rick’s friend, Morgan, was teased right on the ending of the first episode of Season 5 but he has yet to appear since. The possibility is now very high that he will finally appear anytime in the next two episodes. All these should once again put an exhilarating season finale to “The Waking Dead.”
