The latest season of The Walking Dead started back in October of last year and it has been a wild ride ever since. With main characters still getting killed off and story lines that blow your mind, the show has given fans a great amount to talk about each week and has yet to disappoint. Season 5 has been split into two parts, with the latest just starting right after the Super Bowl a couple of weeks ago. The second half will consist of 8 episodes.
The Walking Dead Season 5 has 17 main characters with just 10 of them being mentioned in the opening credits. The group has been trying to get to Washington D.C. with hopes of finding a cure, but that all changed a few episodes ago when Eugene Porter claimed he was lying about the cure. In the meantime, fans are trying to make sure the show sticks close to the comic book story line. For the most part, the show does and it even includes characters like Father Gabriel Stokes, Aaron and the cannibalistic hunters we got to me at Terminus.
The Walking Dead Season 5 is getting great ratings, with more than 97% approval at Rotten Tomatoes online. According to the website, the show offers a “liberal dose of propulsive, bloody action and enough compelling character moments to reward longtime fans” and that keeps the fans coming back for more. There is plenty of entertainment involved in the show, between characters and just in general. Every fan is wondering why they continue to use guns when a pointy object just seems to do the job.
The Walking Dead Season 5 will finish up on march 29th this year and it will likely involve a major cliffhanging due to the fact that the show has been signed on for another season through AMC. The show was recently on at the same time as the Oscars and that was going to be quite a tool to see exactly how many fans The Walking Dead Season 5 had.
Granted the Oscars still caters to a certain type of person, maybe not the same as The Walking Dead, but the shows were on at the same time. Which show did fans record to watch later? According to reports, The Walking Dead Season 5 episode 11, called “The Distance” was on at the time and recorded more than 13 million viewers. That was up from 12 million the week before. The Oscars were watched by three times as many people that night, but that was a 6-year low according to reports.
