Contest shows like “The Voice” have been questioned for their legitimacy for quite some time, and even though some productions look very official and trustworthy, this isn’t always the case. Recently, we’ve been hearing some rumors about “The Voice”, claiming that the show has been “pre-cast” and that most of what we’re seeing on the screen is just a big façade.
However, the legitimacy of those claims has been disputed – as can be expected – and Adam Weiner, who made the claims originally, has found himself under attack from some fans of “The Voice” who’re claiming that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Weiner took to his Facebook account to inform that he won’t be performing on the show due to issues with pre-casting, and he claimed that the producers were simply looking to fill one of their openings with him.
On the other hand, an alleged insider source has refuted those claims, stating that the show is not pre-case and that’s just the interpretation of the performer himself. The source further explained that Weiner was booked for season 10 of the show and was asked to audition. He did audition, after which he was given dates in which he was requested to be available, which is when he decided to skip his attendance on the show.
Weiner further claimed that he appreciates the show’s production values on one hand, and he definitely sees how it can be enjoyable to certain people – but on the other hand, he didn’t believe that it has any benefits to the careers of working artists, other than judges themselves. He went on to add that the show apparently only exists to benefit those stars and whatever major label or pop songs they happen to be promoting.
On the other hand, he doesn’t seem to believe that the show as a whole is fake and does seem to recognize some value in it for those who perform. However, in the end, he sees it as a waste of time and talent for those who’re hoping to achieve anything serious in the process.
Weiner also added that he’s not the first to accuse the show of being pre-cast and other people have referenced similar issues before, but for the time being, most of the show’s fans seem to disagree with his position and haven’t been very supportive of his refusal to continue performing.
The performer stands by his original Facebook post however, and he also explained why he thought it was necessary. He wanted to reach out to as many people as possible at the same time, and he wanted to reassure all of his fans and friends that he has values which he stands behind, and he’s not going to compromise them for his performance on the show.
One way or another, “The Voice” is coming back for season 9 during the fall season with Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton in the coaching positions. It’s shaping up to be an interesting season of the show, all things considered, and fans should probably not be too worried about the controversial comments in the media lately.
After all, Weiner was right – it’s not the first time that “The Voice” has found itself in the middle of some controversial remarks, but the show continues to enjoy a huge following of fans regardless. Those who enjoy watching the various performances on it are going to get even more great moments with the upcoming new season.

If the show is not pre casted why do they have private auditions and scout out talent at bars and open mics? I know a few people that have been part of the pre casting… I’ve never been chosen and ivr tried out more then 6 times… In the masses waiting 4hours to sing 30 to 45 seconds of a song… It’s a sham… They are not even true blind auditions.
Ratings and follower are what they are looking for…
