‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8 to Feature Returning Characters from the Previous Seasons of the TV Series!

Now that it has already been confirmed that Season 8 of the American supernatural drama TV series “The Vampire Diaries” is going to be its final season on The CW, there are reports going around that Nina Dobrev shall also be returning.

It turns out that Nina Dobrev’s return to the TV series is actually part of the overall efforts of the producers of the show to bring back practically all the past major characters of “The Vampire Diaries” from its past seven seasons to finally give the show its fitting closure. It’s also one way of tying all loose ends and finish the TV series on a high note, reports the Ecumenical News.

That being said, it is now clear that the return of Nina Dobrev on “The Vampire Diaries” was not to expand the storyline of Elena Gilbert, her character on the show, and perhaps relive her romance with Damon Salvatore, played by his former real-life boyfriend Ian Somerhalder.

In fact, there are also reports saying that Nina Dobrev shall actually be returning as Katherine Pierce, who shall reportedly be serving as a villain in Season 8 of “The Vampire Diaries.”

In addition to Nina Dobrev, other possible returnees to the TV series are Sarah Salvatore, played by Tristin Mays, as well as Klaus, played by Joseph Morgan, from “The Originals” spinoff TV series.

There are also reports saying that Stefan Salvatore, played by Paul Wesley, and Caroline, played by Candice Accola King, shall also be tying the knot in the eighth and final season of “The Vampire Diaries” but Caroline will be thrown off with the return of Klaus in Mystic Falls.

Also expected to return is Grams, played by Jasmine Guy, when “The Vampire Diaries” Season 8 premieres on The CW on October 21.

A big death in the final season

Executive producer Julie Plec has hinted during the recent San Diego ComicCon that the eighth and final season of “The Vampire Diaries” would feature a big death.

According to reports, the major death on the show might occur in the middle of the season or at the end part to make the show’s exit more dramatic, notes Movie News Guide.

Actress Kat Graham, who plays Bonnie in the TV series, previously hinted that there will be a big death in the show’s Season 8 but it will not happen right away.

However, most fans of the hit TV series believe that it is not going to be Damon or Paul. However, there are reports saying that it might actually be Bonnie herself since her character has already lost her powers in Season 7.

Even if Bonnie can protect herself without her powers, she might end up sacrificing herself to save her friends. In fact, there are speculations that she will sacrifice herself to bring back Elena to help Damon.

However, all these remain as speculations pending the confirmation or denial from the show’s cast members and executive producers.

But fans are sure to be given the answers to their burning questions when Season 8 of “The Vampire Diaries” return to the small screen in October.

Happy endings for romantic pairs

Despite the looming death of a major character of the TV series, Julie Plec hinted that the romances in the TV series might finally have their happy endings unlike in the past seasons where they almost always end up in tragedies.

The Vampire Diaries Season 7

Plec said that Season 8 is going to be fun because they get to really deliver on relationships completely in a way that they have never been able to.

Without her saying it, ‘Steroline’ fans got excited and enthusiastic about Caroline and Stefan. Reports have it that they will finally come together and have an opportunity to try to be happy even though things around them are so chaotic and distressing.
