‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8 Stefan Salvatore Goes Completely Out of Control as a Ripper Again!

While fans await the details on Nina Dobrev’s possible return on the finale episode of “The Vampire Diaries” Season 8, things are still getting complicated in Mystic Falls as the Salvatore brothers have completely vowed their loyalty to serve Cade, the new villain in town.

In particular, Stefan Salvatore, played by Paul Wesley, is the one who is really serious about his job of dragging bad souls to offer to his new boss.

During the mid-season finale, Stefan accepted Cade’s offer to be his new servant in order to save the Gemini Twins. It can be remembered that Caroline Forbes, played by Candice Accola, served as their surrogate mother and somehow a wife to Alaric Saltzman to protect them.

Stefan chose to bargain himself to join his brother, Damon, played by Ian Somerhalder, in search for souls with wicked pasts and evil choices to suffer eternal misery with Cade.

Towards the end of the mid-season finale episode, Stefan is seen completely switching off his humanity as he turned into a ruthless ripper again while he and Damon took the road and leave Mystic Falls.

The Salvatore brothers went off to different places to look for opportunities to murder people who are sinners or at least have the potentials to be sinners.

It went pretty bloody as “The Vampire Diaries” Season 8 returned again for its eighth episode entitled “We Have History Together.” The opening scene started off with Stefan and Damon joining an anger management support group.

But what was expected to be an avenue to release each one’s emotional tension, turned out to be a venue for carnage as the brothers killed everyone. Damon did not slow down on his intentions and already revealed his reason for joining the group.

However, what made the story intriguing is Stefan’s losing complete control on baiting the people in the support group. His sense of searching for bad souls is pretty creepy as he asks a guy if he would let other members of the group die in order to save himself. He compels the guy to answer honestly while Damon felt uncomfortable of what his brother was doing.

The guy answered yes and Damon immediately lunges forward and killed the guy by sucking his blood. Amidst the older Salvatore’s focus on killing one guy, Stefan is on the other side killing everyone which was not part of their original plan.

Damon was confused about Stefan’s unusual ripper behavior as he does not tear off the heads of his victims after sucking the blood.

Stefan then explained to Damon that he wanted to put marks on their necks so he would be able to get back on them and keep himself under control without cutting off their heads. It is actually not something that Stefan does not do when he was previously a ripper.

Another scene that showed Stefan’s determination to serve Cade was was when he challenged the moral principles of good people by provoking them to do evil choices.

Just like when he injected Damon with vervain to get closer to Tara, a successful doctor, who Stefan seems to be intrigued on finding out her darkest past. It was then revealed that Tara’s parents were killed by a drunk driver in a car crash 10 years ago.

Tara used it as her motivation to dedicate her passion for saving life but Stefan is seemingly determined to turn the good doctor into an evil one.

While Damon is in the hospital with Tara checking up on him, Stefan convinced her that Damon was the drunk driver who killed his parents and that he deserves to die.

Damon wanted to stop his ripper brother but it was too late to realize that Tara is actually choosing to kill him. After that, Stefan set out a plan to kill Tara but Damon stopped him and allowed Tara to have a second chance.

Cade is really into turning good souls into bad which is why he chose Stefan to be his powerful loyal servant because the ripper had been through it and is only a matter of reliving his past.

Everything got messed up at the end of the episode when Damon saw Stefan could no longer contain his bloodlust and did a killing spree in the hospital, tearing off the heads of his victims.
