Producers and the showrunners are one in coming to the conclusion that the exit of Nina Dobrev during the seventh season really affected the ratings of the show and it is now obvious that the actress is the reason why the TV series was a hit during its first six seasons.
Elena and Damon are the prime sweethearts of “The Vampire Diaries” even to the point that Dobrev and Somerhalder took their relationship off-screen.
But when they broke up in real life and Somerhalder decided to marry Nikki Reed, who ironically played a vampire in the hit movie series “Twilight,” Dobrev left the show.
It has been reported that the upcoming Season 8 of “The Vampire Diaries” will be its last. But most fans are actually getting excited than ever not because apart from wanting to see how the story in Mystic Falls finally ends but more importantly because Nina Dobrev will come back to reprise her Elena Gilbert character.
After being absent from the popular show during its recently-concluded Season 7 of “The Vampire Diaries,” Nina Dobrev has decided to come back and finally allow her Elena Gilbert character to have her imminent reunion with Damon Salvatore.
As if to tease Ian Somerhalder what he has been missing, Nina Dobrev also posted an image of herself on social media a few weeks ago wearing a bikini. According to reports, she made the post in order to draw Somerhalder’s attention.
