It’s already been confirmed that Nina Dobrev isn’t coming back for the next season of “The Vampire Diaries”, but other details about the show remain a mystery so far. Fans have been wondering what they can expect from season 7 once it starts airing, and there are various theories going around right now, as well as some popular requests that the fans have made towards the show’s producers.
Stefan and Caroline should get together for good in the new season, according to most fans – it seems like many are actually tired of the constant ongoing drama between the two, and the part of the plot that keeps their relationship going back and forth should probably be put to rest in this season. It’s served its purpose already, as it brought a good amount of tension to some episodes, but now fans want to see the two as an actual romantic couple and not just the shallow relationship that they have now.
Plus, the show doesn’t really have a “central” couple right now, leaving fans with no romantic duo to root for, so uniting these two characters would be the perfect solution for filling that void. On the other hand, Bonnie is a character that many see as one with a lot more potential than what the producers are doing with her now.
Many fans apparently want to see her getting her own storyline, instead of always being used as a plot device for advancing someone else’s current story. We don’t know what the writers could do about her to make her more central to the plot, but they should definitely consider their options carefully.
Something else that some of the show’s fans apparently want to see changing are its antagonists – it hasn’t had a good villain recently, and while we’ve had some “good” moments with Klaus and Kai, and some less than impressive ones with Marco, it can use some more opposition against the main characters right now.
The Heretics are a group with real potential for that, according to some, and they could be used to carve out a good backstory to the show, advancing some of its subplots and of course giving the main characters a true challenge to work against. Hopefully the writers are going to utilize their potential fully instead of wasting it away, as they don’t even need that much development right now in order to turn them into something impressive. We’ll see what happens in season 7, but hopefully there will be some development on this front.
I will have to wait and see, I don’t like to say until I see the first couple of shows without the gilberts .

Caroline and Tyler should be to gether. Bonnie and damon together and one way or another Vickie should be brought back and Elaina’s bro should be with Vickie Stephan should be with Elaina. An wth? Elaina is off the show idk how I’m gunna feel about this….. :/ not impressed. Next season should figure out a way to bring her back like turn bonnie to a vampire cuz she would die and Elaina could come back. Jus saying.
Damon and Bonnie should be a couple. THEY Could Be very powerful together.
