Instead of the love triangle focus among Stefan, Damon and Elena, the departure of Nina Dobrev will spawn new love story angles in the American supernatural TV series “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 when it premieres on The CW on October 8.
According to latest reports, it is likely that Stefan, played by Paul Wesley, would finally find romantic interest in Caroline, played by Candice Accola.
Julie Plec, co- executive producer of the “The Vampire Diaries,” disclosed that Season 7 of the series will focus on Caroline and her love story with Stefan. She says that Caroline never really had the best of luck. Everyone realized that here’s a girl who’s trying so hard to matter and she’s overdoing and overcompensating it. So what they’ve done to Caroline is to set her up that by the end of her run as a character, she will be the one that gets to be picked first.
When fans last saw the couple, Caroline was saying that she was not yet ready to commit to a relationship with Stefan. But Stefan has declared his love to her and said he would be willing to wait for her. And it looks like Stefan would finally get the nod of Caroline in Season 7 of “The Vampire Diaries.”
Another romantic pair?
Meanwhile, it has been reported that there will be another romantic pair when Season 7 of “The Vampire Diaries” returns.
Nearly every fan of the show thinks that it is going to be Damon, played by Ian Somerhalder, the former real-life boyfriend of Nina Dobrev, with a new female character likely to be introduced in the series.
It turns out however that it is not going to be Damon with somebody else, but the show’s new romantic pair would involve Bonnie, played by Kat Graham.
TV Line reports that the oft-abused witch is not just going to be powerful and more alive in Season 7 of “The Vampire Diaries,” she is also going to have her own love interest in the upcoming season.
The report was actually confirmed by co-executive producer Caroline Dries who said that Bonnie will have somebody in the upcoming season, but it is not going to be with Damon.
For her part, Kat Graham said that she is not opposed for her character to have a romance with Damon, but she would prefer that Bonnie falls for a fellow female witch. She disclosed that she has espoused to the showrunners the idea of her character having some sexual discoveries about herself.
All about Elena
During the panel presentation of “The Vampire Diaries” at the just-concluded ComicCon 2015, the main cast of characters admitted that the departure of Nina Dobrev as Elena Gilbert has drastically altered the course of the series.
But they were all in unison that Elena’s coma will bring about the necessary change in the show, notes the International Business Times.
According to Paul Wesley, the departure of Elena from the series might actually help the show to stay exciting. He says that he considers it more like a shift in dynamics, which created a whole new world for “The Vampire Diaries.”
Kat Graham explained that there is still a mystery behind the long sleep of Elena in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 because nobody knows if she will still be coming back or not. The actress said that it was a clever way for the showrunners to make it that way to keep Elena’s presence in the show while keeping the door open for a lot of ways for her to come back.
