The Upcoming Toyota Camry is Gearing-Up to Propel the Brand to the Number One Spot in the US!

Despite its promising nature, the Toyota Camry failed to grab the top spot in the popularity charts in the United States by a slight margin as it failed to fulfill the general requirements of the buyers. The Camry stands near the top of the charts in most of the fields such as practicality, interior space, fuel economy, reliability and resale value, etc., although, it is not at the helm!

For years, vehicles such as the Honda Accord and Hyundai Sonata have beaten the Camry to the top spot, but it is not the Camry’s incapability that is at fault. The other vehicles are just that good! Toyota loyalists have emailed their grievances to the company over time, but no major upgrades were carried on. However, with the 2015 Camry, Toyota plans to make some major changes to the overall design of the vehicle.

Some of the primary changes that have been confirmed so far include a slightly creased and folded hood, muscular front end, lower and longer snout, wider stance and well-built flanks. Minor upgrades have been made to the interior too, including bright silver trim, accent stitching, and minor personalization touches.

The Toyota Camry is available in three trim levels including SE, LE, and XLE. The SE is the latest in the line and features minor red and green touches, dark chrome trim detailing, 17-inch aluminum wheels and a spoiler. The mesh grille up front is a welcome change. Toyota has opted for spot welds in key areas of the 2015 Camry, enhancing structural rigidity, and the door openings and cowl are two such areas.

The Toyota Camry features power steering and dual-stage brake booster, which enhances linear braking, maintaining a subtle deceleration. The SE trim level features updated suspension bushes and spring and rear anti-roll bar. The vehicle is designed for comfort and easy handling while the steering response is equally impressive.

One of the primary features of daily commuters is fuel economy, and the 2015 Toyota Camry has the perfect solution – a Hybrid! By combining the new engine block with better rubber, Toyota manages to attain a healthy 48/40 MPG on the city/freeway! Toyota hopes that with the introduction of the Hybrid model, car sales in the United States will pick up.

All the standard variants of the vehicle will be on sale, apart from the Hybrid, ensuring that the performance addicts get their dues. Toyota will be using new four-cylinder engine blocks on the latest generation of the Camry, which is slated to churn out 178 BHP along with 170 ft-lb. The vehicle is capable of accelerating from 0 – 60 MPH within a respectable 7.2 seconds.
