EA has decided to launch a new paid DLC for The Sims 4. However, not many are excited about the new DLC since they feel it would be better to save up that money to wait for The Sims 5.
The game developers usually release a new Sims game after a gap of five years. The five-year gap has been a tradition for a while now, and the next installment will follow the similar pattern. The Sims 4 was released in 2014. If a gap of five years maintained, then the release date for The Sims 5 will be around 2019.

The major drawback of The Sims 4 was that it lacked good content. EA decided to rectify that by releasing DLCs. However, the whole purpose of improving the rating of the game fails when the content needs to be bought by the players.
Instead of asking the players to pay for a new DLC, EA should have waited for the release of The Sims 5.
The other thing that caused The Sims 4 to be a massive failure was that it was available only on the PC. If EA had realized that and tried to come out with Xbox and PS4 versions, then the game might have had the opportunity to redeem itself.
It could have still rectified the mistake by launching the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 version now instead of the November DLC, ‘City Living.’
Rumors suggest that EA is releasing City Living in November to start the hype about The Sims 5. The developers are towards the fag end of the new game and might announce it soon. Since The Sims 4 wasn’t successful, the EA hopes that releasing The Sims 5 early will help them rectify their mistake.
