‘The Sims 4’ Upcoming Expansion Pack to Immerse Players’ Sims in the Different Cultures of Modern City!

Game publisher Electronic Arts (EA) has yet to confirm the rumors that the next expansion pack coming to the life simulation video game “The Sims 4” is going to be called “The Sims 4: City Life” but speculations are now swirling wildly that the initial rumors do have good legs to stand on.

EA is also part of the ongoing Gamescom 2016 in Cologne, Germany and game producers Rachel Franklin and Lyndsay Pearson will have a closed Q&A panel during the second day of the event but it is unlikely for them to make any announcement about “The Sims 4.”

However, a fan site has leaked a screenshot of a Brazilian version of the video game which hinted that the latest expansion pack for the life simulation game is to be called “Vida Na Cidade” which means “Life in the City,” “City Life,” or “Living in the City” in English, notes iDigital Times.

Some critics and gamers are also saying that EA has intentionally hinted the game’s next expansion pack as an Easter egg on “The Sims 4: Backyard Stuff Pack” released in July by including two T-shirts with a cityscape design.

In a survey made by the Sims Community last year, gamers expressed their preference for a city-themed expansion on the game with a new world named Metropolis.

Moving into the bustling city life

According to reports, the upcoming expansion pack shall allow players’ Sims to move into a bustling and modern city life where they can live in new apartments and penthouses, eat food at carts, and shop at street markets.

The players can also immerse their Sims in the different culture of the city by exploring the diverse neighborhoods in the metropolis.

However, there are also reports saying that the next expansion pack for “The Sims 4” is not recommended for children under 12 years old.

Game developer Maxis Studios has not released an expansion and stuff packs back-to-back but it may do so soon with the upcoming release of the new expansion pack, also regarded as a game pack. Last month, the game released “The Sims 4: Backyard Stuff Pack.”

“The Sims 4” is based on a concept where players control various activities and can form relationships with other players’ Sims. The various built-in modes in the game also enable players to indulge in versatile mode and create game content, notes Movie News Guide.

Not going to be ported to the consoles

Meanwhile, “The Sims 4” shall remain a PC game because a representative of EA has just confirmed that there is no plan to port the game on the current generation gaming consoles, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

On a tweet on July 26, Lyndsay Pearson of EA said that their company has no plans to release a console version of “The Sims 4” anytime in the near future. She told gamers to just ignore the rumors.

There have been rumors as early as last year that there were ongoing efforts to port the game to the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 but there were some technical glitches that had to be ironed out.

Late in June, reports also came out saying that because of the technical difficulties in porting “The Sims 4” to the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, the game developer has decided to cancel the plan to release a console version of the game.

The statement made by Pearson late last month seem to have confirmed that EA might have indeed abandoned its plan to release a version of the game on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
