‘The Sims 4: Outdoor Retreat’ Brings New Gameplay and Sim Activities!

The simulation video game “The Sims 4” will go to the great outdoors with its first-ever game pack titled “The Sims 4 – Outdoor Retreat” which promises to bring new gameplay, items, as well as activities for Sims.

The game pack will also feature a new destination known as Granite Falls which would give players more tasks to accomplish or missions to take on as well as explore.

The Australian edition of the International Business Times reveals that Sims can now go into the woods and explore plants and insects and other forest creatures typical of any hiking trek.

Camping will also be one of the new features of the game pack which would allow Sims or players to buy camping gears and outfits, which they can either use in Granite Falls or even the backyard of their homes in the neighbourhood.

“The Sims 4 – Outdoor Retreat” is available only on the PC for the time being. The game pack is comes as a digital download from Origin or other retailers at a price of about $25.

Things to do outdoors

When in the new destination or at Granite Falls, players or Sims have a lot of things to do such as explore the forest and the woods, get into and check out the national park, go after the rumored hermit, and do stargazing at night while roasting marshmallows and sharing campfire stories to while away the evening.

There is also the opportunity for Sims to become resourceful and innovative with first aid techniques while in the woods using available plants found in the forest.

Players can resort to their knowledge of plants and herbs for possible use as medication to insect bites, those that can be eaten, and those that are not edible because they are poisonous.

One of the most exciting items that will come with “The Sims 4 – Outdoor Retreat” is the bear costume for Sim or Sims, for that matter. Players can use the bear costume to scare other campers away or they can also opt to bring it home and use it in the urban neighbourhood and scare their neighbours out of their wits.

Coming to Mac plus a new patch

Game developer Electronic Arts (EA) says that the Mac version of “The Sims 4” will roll out this February 2015 but those who have already a copy of the PC version is entitled a Mac version for free.

EA is also planning to roll out a new patch, which it calls as Version 1.3.32.1010 to fix some bugs that are often raised by players in the Sim community. The patch will improve the game’s performance especially among players who were not able to load the patch last December 2014.

The patch will solve the glitch of having players bounced back to the neighbourhood map over and over again. The My Library bug, which occasionally stalls the game, has also been addressed.
