On September 2, the life simulation video game “The Sims 4” marked its first year after it was officially released to the PC. Game publisher Electronic Arts took it as an opportune time to release some statistics about the game’s first year showing that gamers really had fun playing “The Sims 4.”
There is no more glaring evidence about the success of the video game than the figure indicating that since it was launched last year, gamers have actually created some 92.8 million Sims. The figure actually approximates the combined population of Canada, Spain, and Sweden according to Gamespot.
Of the nearly 93 million Sims created, about 7.4% of them went romantic and the good thing about the game is that there were more Sim marriages than divorces. As per game statistics, 27.5 million Sims got married compared to 1.7 million breakup recorded in the year, resulting to a divorce rate of only 6%, way below the 40% to 50% divorce rate of couples in the US, details the Tech Times.
The number of Sims who woohoo’d, which is the game’s other term for sex, numbered 235 million times during the years while those Sim couples who worked on really having Sim babies totalled 165 million times.
Interestingly, the game statistics also showed that there were 500,000 Sim deaths during the game’s first year, 184,000 of them were caused by Cow Plants.
A lot of Simming to do
Amid the obvious success of the game, developer EA Maxis has no plans of slowing down in keeping “The Sims 4” continuously exciting for gamers.
Accordingly, the developer is now preparing to release the game’s second expansion pack titled “Get Together” in November in addition to many other stuff and game packs that it will be rolling out in the near future.
Gamers are always excited when a new expansion pack or updates are rolled out to the game because they all believe that the world still has a lot of Simming to do.
According to Rachel Franklin, EA Maxis general manager, gamer feedback and passion have made the first year of “The Sims 4” a great one on course to making the second year even better.
She disclosed that they have so much great stuff planned for the future. She expressed that she can’t tell gamers enough of how much EA Maxis appreciated the fan and gamer support and assured them of more good things ahead for the game.
