This is actually one of the things that drew criticism to the game on its release, as some players were accusing EA of stripping out content from the title so they can sell it as DLC later, making the base game less interesting as a whole.
The announcement that swimming pools were being removed from the game was met with disapproval for this reason, for example, but hopefully EA aren’t going to turn this game into a cash cow and try to squeeze every cent they can out of their players.
The fact that they’re working on free updates like this one is definitely a good indication that they want to keep things fair though, and hopefully they aren’t going to take positive reception to this release the wrong way, and use it as an indication that players would be happy to pay for such content. More free goodies are definitely a great way to keep this game alive for a long time.
I hope later in the game that we can use cars to drive around again and strollers so that having babies and making them grow is more interesting.
Yes I agree to Kat Mariah, it would be nice to have cars and pets in the Sims 4. I also would recommend adding more clothing and hairstyles :)
