The Sims 4: Customizable Swimming Pool Added, New Updates on Their Way!

The Sims 4 was released without the swimming pool feature, which was later added to The Sims 3. However, after a lot of discussions on various forums, the developers decided to get the swimming pool concept back with the latest update in The Sims 4.

The swimming pool was an important feature to decorate and was also a spot for Sims’ social interaction. The fans were elated when Electronic Arts and Maxis said that they would bring the swimming pools back. The makers did not just add the pool but also kept their promise of allowing players greater freedom in customising the pools.

Players can now design their pools in various shapes and sizes, depending on the cash their Sims have. The Sims 4 team is excited about the new feature and they mirror the excitement of the players as well.

The pools are not just filled with water, but also have surrounding walls with decorations in and around them. Players can place wine glasses around the pools or create a landscape garden in the immediate vicinity with a theme of their choice. Swimming pools can now be placed in any location that the player wishes, including the top of a building.

The introduction of this feature in the latest update has however turned the creators’ fear to reality. The Sims can be killed in the watery grave. Maxis had refused to launch the update for this one simple reason, but he later gave in to fan pressure.

This has created quite a buzz. Why do players want to kill the Sims by drowning them? There’s no answer to that except for a very scary one, which states that each one of us has a murderous instinct deep inside of us. It just needs a push to come out. Developers have discovered that the Sims take an hour to die by drowning! Gruesome indeed!

Producer Shannon Copur had said that Sims can’t call out for help when stuck in the pool. Devoid of air, they start turning yellow and red from green and finally start banging the closed walls before dying. However, the characters in The Sims 4 don’t go away after dying. They rise as ghosts and experience special powers.

The Sims 4

The Sims 4 has added some special content as well apart from introducing quite a few bug fixes in the new update, which makes the game more stable than the previous versions. Fans will be elated to know that this is just the beginning of some special features that the creators have decided to roll out in the coming months for The Sims 4.

  1. I am extremely disappointed that the Sims creators are updating the current game when it hasn’t even been released on Mac yet. I wanted to buy the game when it first became available but I only have a Mac so I still havent been able to purchase. As a Mac user you also can’t play thr create a sim demo which is disappointing. I am an avid Sims player and I own almost all of the Sims 3 expansions and was super excited for the Sims 4. Yet they dont even have a Mac release date announced.

    1. Its not like they aren’t working on it. They can’t just snap their fingers and have it magically appear. While working on patches on the PC version, they working on the Mac version as well. What would you rather? Having pools and a good game with limited glitches when they release the mac version, or have the mac version and have to wait more time for pools, etc.

  2. I’m glad pools are back but… I’m not happy yet. No pool party event has been added…big bummer. There isn’t anything cool like floaty loungers or even side loungers from sims 3, hopefully it will be added in an expansion pack. And yeah I can make a pool on the second floor and have a big aquarium tank effect in my lobby/ first floor. BUT i cant see my people who are clearly swimming and in the water from the first floor. That would of been awesome especially if they threw in “swim to bottom of pool” or diving or some side cart. But again hopefully they will add it later with an expansion. Which I’m ready for cause. .. I’m bored. . I have been going back to sims 3 cause i miss all the fun stuff you can do especially the professions like home designer and stylist. And cars for Gosh Sake bring back cars, buses and car pools. And unique career out fits…come on EA and Maxis, you striped the game down for a reason now build it back to what it was. Cheat codes need to be simplified or atleast default that you used in the last 2 games. ..come on.

  3. I’m disappointed in the lack if stuff to do in the town, n the size of the lots, so small!!! I love the create a Sim, lots of fun

  4. Its very good to know that theyre adding more things on the game. I honestly am looking for season on sims 4.
