The first of three episodes of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In,” the spinoff series to the popular American reality TV series “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” premiered on Bravo on October 11.
Some critics felt that the show was a bit of a downer since they were actually expecting much of Teresa Giudice in it, which was not possible at all because of Danbury Correctional’s strict policy against reality TV cameras.
Teresa Giudice is serving a 15-month prison sentence at the Danbury Correctional for bank fraud-related charges and will finish her jail term on December 23, notes E! Online.
The most that the show featured on Teresa is her constant phone call to her husband Joe to check in on the family and the household itself, befitting of the title of the spinoff series.
But what’s fascinating about the show is that it actually highlighted how much Joe and Teresa love each other even if the latter is currently incarcerated.
More time apart than together
Once she checks out of prison late in December, Joe will then begin his 42-month sentence in March also on fraud charges, which is three years and a half. Combining it with the 15-month jail term of Teresa and that’s almost five years of being apart, details Radar Online.
That leaves the couple a little over two months to make the most of their time together being free and they will most certainly do.
In fact, during the first episode of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In,” Teresa was even asking Joe to have phone sex with her, to quench whatever longing they have for each other. And she was saying a lot of nice things about her husband and how she misses them badly that when she gets out of prison, she will definitely be all over him.
During his phone conversation with his wife, Joe also told Teresa that he has been sleeping in the couch during her incarceration because if he sleeps in their bedroom, he will just be missing her.
In turn, Teresa shared to her husband that she watched the Channing Tatum stripper flick “Magic Mike XXL” the previous night and she told Joe that she was imagining his face on the Tatum’s body.
Then she said that they are going to be married forever regardless of the obstacles that come their way, which only showed how much they really loved each other.
Proud of her husband
The spinoff series shows Joe becoming a house-band to his four daughters – 14-year-old Gia, 10-year-old Gabrielle, nine-year-old Milania, and six-year-old Audriana.
Even Gia commended her dad for being a serviceable Mr. Mom to her and her siblings. Gia also said that her dad really stepped up. They were not actually expecting it from him, but her father gets their breakfast together and makes sure that everything is up and running in the house.
Joe admits that it was tough living without Teresa in the house, but he said that he believes that his wife is definitely proud of him for holding the household while she’s incarcerated.
He added that if his wife was not proud of him or how he was holding the family and the household together, he thinks that Teresa would have already sent him divorce papers from prison.
Instead of focusing on the lives of the New Jersey housewives, the spinoff TV series focuses on Teresa’s husband Joe trying to manage their family of four daughters. The subsequent episodes of the spinoff series will also feature family prison visits too.
The spinoff reality TV show would provide the family sufficient income to tide them over during their time of trepidation.
